Honor Magic Vs2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Magic Vs2 Overview
Honor Magic Vs2 is a foldable flagship at a great price
The Chinese company Honor has seriously improved its series of foldable smartphones over the past few years. Metamorphoses have occurred in technical characteristics, design, and strength. And the hero of today’s review adds an attractive price tag to the listed additions.
As noted earlier, the appearance of the new product was a success. The additional 6.43-inch (2376x1060 pixels) and the main 7.92-inch (2344x2156 pixels) flexible AMOLED displays amaze not only with their brightness, contrast and picture refresh rate (120Hz), but also with thin frames, an updated folding system allows keep the thickness of the device to a modest 11mm. The glass and metal body pleasantly cools the palm, and both the photomodule unit and the side fingerprint scanner leave a positive impression.
Minor savings are observed in the processor used. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is no longer the top-end solution, but it is simply impossible to blame the chipset for low performance. The combination of a CPU with 12/16GB of RAM and an Adreno 730 video adapter scores significantly more than a million points in the AnTuTu benchmark and easily copes with all existing applications and games. Of course, such power is also visible in the incredible smoothness of the Android 13 interface. However, there is no lack of energy efficiency, because even with such a huge AMOLED screen, the 5000mAh battery provides about 7-8 hours of active screen time. Fast wired charging with a power of 66W is provided, but it was decided to abandon its wireless analogue to reduce costs. The size of the permanent memory has been increased to an impressive 256/512GB.
The photo capabilities are good, but still far from those of full-fledged camera phones. The problem is that only a telephoto lens with a 3x zoom has optical stabilization. For some reason, the 50-megapixel main module and 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor are deprived of OIS, which is why the evening photos they take more often suffer from blur and noise. However, the final result of photo sessions is still beautiful in 99% of cases. The stereo speakers are loud and balanced; your favorite music tracks will definitely not disappoint with their sound. There are NFC contactless payments and 5G support. But there is still no protection against dust and moisture according to IP68 standards due to the peculiarities of the form factor. However, minor flaws cannot harm the attractiveness of this amazing gadget.
