Honor Magic4 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Magic4 Overview
Honor Magic4 - return of former power
There is hardly a person in the world who has not used a smartphone from the Chinese company Honor, or at least has not seen one in the hands of people around him. However, the corporation's army of fans has noticeably thinned due to problems associated with the separation of the manufacturer from the parent company and previously experienced sanctions from the United States. But the brand's faith in finding its former positions began to bear fruit in the form of beautiful devices like the hero of today's review.
The originality of the design of the novelty pleases the eye. A wide range of photomodules looks futuristic and stylish, while it does not stick out of the glass case and does not spoil the ergonomics of the gadget. Of course, the list of exterior pluses and the metal edging, and the almost complete frameless display, add to the list. Pleased with the abundance of colors of the rear panels for every taste. The 6.81-inch AMOLED screen features an unusual yet high resolution of 2664 x 1224 pixels, huge peak brightness and a flagship 120Hz refresh rate. The attractiveness of the AMOLED panel is also added by an under-screen fingerprint scanner with excellent accuracy, a neat peephole of a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
Expensive Android-smartphone has the appropriate technical characteristics. The most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset to date, 8GB/12GB of RAM and Adreno 730 video adapter represent a potential paradise for mobile gamers. But the initial crazy frame rate, even with the maximum graphics presets, after half an hour or an hour of gameplay will be replaced by minor jamming due to throttling. But the problem has a solution, namely the reduction of graphic settings to medium-high level in resource-intensive projects. In everyday tasks, the processor demonstrates fantastic performance, which sometimes makes it feel like applications are launched even before the screen is touched. The energy efficiency of the CPU is not bad, thanks to which the 4800mAh battery gives a stable day of active interaction with the gadget. Wireless charging is left for the Pro-version of the phone, but its wired alternative with a power of 66W will reduce the time spent at the outlet to an inconspicuous 25-30 minutes. For information storage, 128/256/512GB of UFS 3.1 format is allocated.
50- (main module and wide-angle lens) and 8-megapixel (telephoto and 5x optical zoom) cameras are the main advantage of the new representative of the Magic line. Laser autofocus, superb hybrid image and video stabilization, high-quality lenses and optimized software turn every shot into a small photo masterpiece. I also want to praise the phablet for stereo sound , NFC contactless payments, and the presence of Google services. But the lack of moisture protection is puzzling. But if this drawback is not critical for the buyer, then the gadget will give a lot of positive emotions, although it will slightly empty the wallet.
