Honor Play 20 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Play 20 Pro Overview
Honor Play 20 Pro - a smartphone that no one needs?
One of the keys to the success of a product is its correct positioning. One way or another, the product must have a potential buyer to satisfy the requests of which it will be directed. Unfortunately, the Chinese company Honor was not guided by similar principles when creating the hero of today's review. It is problematic to understand exactly who will like the released Android smartphone.
The appearance of the novelty is bad for the middle price segment. The inexpensive plastic of the case, the nondescript camera unit and the design of the 16megapixel selfie camera straight from 2018 are difficult to evaluate positively. Perhaps the only reason for joy will be the small bezels of the 6.53-inchAMOLED panel and the built-in fingerprint scanner. The installed AMOLED screen combines excellent FullHD + resolution, decent brightness and contrast parameters, but not without annoying oversights. So, the refresh rate of a picture of 60 hertz is not what a modern user would like to see in a far from cheap mobile assistant.
The performance of the technical characteristics is also depressing. The MediatekHelioG80 processor is found in Android phones at half the price, and even with 8GB ofRAM and a Mali G52-MC2 graphics adapter, it does not turn into a gaming solution. Demanding projects (Genshin Impact, Tank Company) sometimes experience problems even with minimal graphics settings, upsetting with numerous jams and freezes. But they did not save on the amount of internal storage, the phablet is equipped with 128GB ofROM , and there are MicroSD cards for expanding memory. But another catch lies in the autonomy. A 3800mAh battery, modest by today's standards, gives out about a day of active interaction with the gadget, opponents can boast of the best results.
The same goes for cameras. First, the auxiliary 8- and 2-megapixel sensors are virtually useless. Secondly, the main 64-megapixel photosensor without optical stabilization and high-quality lenses does not guarantee the quality of shooting in evening and even more so at night lighting. The noise level exceeds the critical level, it is not easy to capture small objects without blurring. Surprisingly, the device lacks support for 5G networks, a gyroscope, and NFC contactless payment, and stereo sound. As a result, we have in front of us a frankly weak gadget, unable to offer the audience anything outstanding.
