Honor Power2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor Power2 Overview
Honor Power2 - Mid-Range, But Not Mediocre
The Chinese company Honor has suddenly remembered that users often choose smartphones with distinct competitive advantages. And this applies not only to the flagship segment. That's why we're seeing the release of such interesting phones like the subject of today's review.
The new model's appearance is hardly a failure. Yes, the plastic back panel is noticeably inexpensive, but its use is compensated by beautiful case colors with excellent ergonomics, a stylish photo module assembly, and barely noticeable screen bezels. The 6.79-inch AMOLED display features a responsive built-in fingerprint scanner, an optimal 2640x1200 resolution for its diagonal size, a respectable 120Hz refresh rate, and a stunning maximum brightness of 8000 nits, albeit only briefly achieved with the help of AI. The resulting image is clear, smooth, and color-natural. The manufacturer also didn't forget the oleophobic coating.
The technical specifications include a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 CPU, 12GB of RAM, and a Mali G720MC8 GPU. This is an extremely powerful solution for its price range, scoring nearly two million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. There's plenty of power for rendering the Android 16 interface and all existing resource-intensive games and apps. You can test it at or near maximum graphics settings in both Fortnite and Zenless Zone Zero. The frame rate remains stable. Storage options are 256GB/512GB, and there's no microSD card slot. What's truly impressive is the massive 10080mAh battery, which should last 3-4 days. Of course, there's no wireless charging; after all, this is a fairly budget device, but the wired version has a power output of 80W.
The cost savings are starting to show in the photo capabilities, but nothing critical. The auxiliary modules have suffered, with only the 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor included. Due to its simplicity, you're unlikely to use it often. However, the main 50-megapixel camera with hybrid image stabilization easily handles daytime photo sessions, and experienced photographers can also achieve high-quality evening shots. Stereo sound is present; it's not the loudest, but it's loud. Other highlights include 5G and NFC support, IP68 water resistance, and an IR port for controlling home appliances. However, there's no global version yet, nor is FDD-LTE B7, which is essential for 4G networks in Europe and the CIS. But this shortcoming pales in comparison to the abundance of advantages of this extraordinary model.
