Honor X50 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor X50 5G Overview
Honor X50 5G is a bestseller without a twist
Building a commercially successful smartphone over time becomes a daunting task, even for established manufacturers. An increasingly demanding audience makes requests that are difficult to satisfy, and numerous competing companies pose an additional difficulty. The Chinese corporation Honor has tried to make an extremely balanced and relevant device for the price category, but it noticeably lacks originality, its own face.
The appearance of the novelty is quite beautiful for a relatively affordable phone. The circular quad camera block, the glass back, shimmering in the sun, the bezel-less screen and the barely visible eye of the 32-megapixel selfie camera are combined into a single attractive exterior. Only a plastic edging, which does not fit well into the beauty of the design, can spoil the impression of the phablet. The 6.88-inch display is harder to criticize. The AMOLED panel came out bright, contrasting, while its other advantages will be good picture clarity at a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and an increased image refresh rate of 90 hertz . The low PWM ratio and, as a result, the lack of user fatigue from prolonged use of the AMOLED screen replenishes the piggy bank of its advantages.
Technical characteristics correspond to the value segment, but nothing more. The Mediatek Dimensity 900 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G68 MC4 video accelerator gain about 480,000 points in the Antutu benchmark, which can be translated into medium-high graphics presets in the most resource-intensive games like Genshin Impact or Tank Company. Among other features of the CPU, I would like to note a slight heating during many hours of gaming sessions and reasonable power consumption. If we also take into account the capacious 5000mAh battery, then the autonomy of an Android smartphone rises to one and a half days of active use. The volume of internal memory was 128 / 256GB . This ROM size will be enough for most Android users, but it should be borne in mind that there is no microSD card slot.
64-, 8- and 2-megapixel (pair) cameras, led by a Sony IMX686 sensor, are far from useless, but their photographic capabilities are limited only by electronic stabilization and inexpensive lenses. If it is problematic to find fault with daytime shooting because of the reliable color rendering and the abundance of preserved details, then capturing a successful evening shot is not so easy due to the appearance of noise and potential blur. The developer did not forget to provide the gadget with NFC contactless payments and stereo sound , but there is no moisture protection, wireless charging or similar technological chips in the device. Thus, the device is deprived of serious shortcomings, however, many analogs that have already been released are characterized by the same functionality at a similar, and sometimes even lower price.
