Honor X50 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor X50 Pro Overview
Honor X50 Pro - a sub-flagship with advantages and compromises
The recipe for creating a successful smartphone at the border of the mid- and high-price segment is simple and incredibly complex at the same time. The manufacturer needs to preserve the design and most of the functionality of the flagship, sacrificing less necessary aspects of the device. In the hero of today's review, the developer decided to save on photo capabilities, but at the same time even added several interesting competitive advantages to the new product.
The appearance of the gadget is beautiful and memorable. The designers were able to achieve this result due to the rich colors of the rear panels with an ergonomic matte texture, stylish gold-plated photomodule blocks, and the absence of display frames. The plastic edging is stylized to look like metal; it’s easy to forgive such a simplification. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display is characterized not only by an optimal diagonal resolution of 2652 × 1200 pixels, but also by a considerable amount of brightness (1800 nits), realistic color reproduction, a 120-Hz picture refresh rate, an effective oleophobic coating, and an accurate on-screen fingerprint scanner fingers.
Perhaps the most obvious advantage of the phablet is its technical characteristics, because even experienced gamers will be delighted with the combination of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, 12GB of RAM and an Adreno 730 video chip. This combination with a performance of more than a million AnTuTu points will not leave the user without maximum or close to nim graphics settings in any Android games. In addition, the energy-efficient processor increases autonomy. Therefore, the impressive 5800mAh battery will require a power outlet only after a couple of days. Fast charging is available, but it is far from record-breaking (35W). You will still have to spend an hour and a half at a power bank or other power source. As for the amount of permanent memory, it has been increased to 256GB. Unfortunately, it is not possible to expand it with MicroSD cards.
The situation with photographic capabilities is ambiguous. On the one hand, the main 108-megapixel sensor from Samsung with optical stabilization guarantees excellent daytime shots and decent evening shots without an abundance of artifacts, on the other hand, the auxiliary 2-megapixel portrait lens is useless, and the 8-megapixel selfie camera is more suitable for video calls. But NFC contactless payment, stereo sound and a gyroscope are in place. The operating system is Android 13, software support is expected for three years. Thus, the device is practically devoid of critical disadvantages and offers a lot for a more than affordable price.
