Honor X80 Pro Max Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor X80 Pro Max Overview
Honor X80 Pro Max – Focus on Battery Life and More
The Chinese company Honor has decided to pleasantly surprise its loyal fans. The world-renowned corporation has released two new members of its X-series, which stand out from the competition with their enormous batteries, stunning design, and high-tech displays. Will these competitive advantages be enough to achieve international success? It seems so.
The new device's appearance is superb. The colors and textures of the back panels, inspired by Huawei's Mate series, look extremely expensive for its price segment, and the modern round photo module cluster is also striking. Surprisingly, despite all its features, the device maintains a reasonable thickness and boasts IP68 water resistance. Of course, the thin bezels of the AMOLED display with an integrated fingerprint scanner are also a plus. The nearly 7-inch AMOLED panel boasts a flagship brightness of 10,000 nits, so you won't have to worry about viewing content in direct sunlight. The 2788x1280 resolution is sufficient for crisp images, and of course, it features excellent color calibration and smooth images at a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The specifications are identical to those of the base X80 model. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, 8GB/12GB of RAM, and Adreno 810 GPU surpass the million-point mark in AnTuTu, so lag in the Android 16 interface will be incredibly rare. Gaming performance is also impressive, with games known for being resource-intensive running smoothly at medium graphics settings. A whopping 11,000mAh battery means you'll be powered off the grid, if not forever, then for 3-4 days at least. Wired charging is up to 90W. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
The photography capabilities of the main 50MP sensor with hybrid image stabilization and the 8MP wide-angle lens are limited and weaker than those of some competitors. A telephoto lens is missing, so evening photo sessions will often be marred by poor white balance or noise. Stereo sound is present. It's loud, but somewhat flat due to a lack of bass. NFC contactless payments and 5G support round out the list of advantages. Thus, we have a long-lasting, productive, and overall well-balanced device whose minor drawbacks are offset by its advantages and affordable price.
