Honor X80 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Honor X80 Overview
Honor X80 - Rapid Steps to Perfection
The Chinese company Honor places a significant emphasis on mid-range smartphones in its product lineup. It's hard not to notice the improvements in functionality, performance, and battery life of these devices. Today's review subject continues this trend, outperforming most of its competitors in several areas.
The new model's appearance has been transformed. The camera module has been redesigned, and the back panel colors have been redesigned, with options ranging from tempered glass to leather-like polycarbonate. The display bezels are now even thinner, and the in-display fingerprint scanner remains. The nearly 7-inch AMOLED panel guarantees crisp images thanks to a high-resolution 2788x1280 pixels. It also achieves a flagship brightness of 5000 nits, and the image is incredibly smooth at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There's no denying the effectiveness of the oleophobic coating or the naturalness of the colors.
The technical specifications are significantly more impressive than those of its predecessor. The combination of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, 8GB/12GB of RAM, and Adreno 810 GPU scores nearly 1,000,000 points in the AnTuTu v11 benchmark and already gives hope for stable performance not only of the Android 16 interface but also of resource-intensive games. Fans of Fortnite and Genshin Impact will be able to run these titles at medium-high or close to medium graphics settings. The amazing battery life, achieved thanks to the 10,000mAh battery, is also worth mentioning. Three to four days of mobile computing without constantly worrying about finding an outlet is a reality. 80W fast charging is also available. Storage options range from 128GB to 512GB.
The main 50-megapixel camera module with a hybrid image stabilization system and a simple 8-megapixel wide-angle lens will not leave you without artistic photography, but don't expect photos comparable to those of expensive camera phones. Daytime photo sessions will be successful, but the detail in evening shots is sometimes lacking. And noise and blur are often quite noticeable. High-quality stereo speakers, 5G support, NFC contactless payments, IP68 water resistance, and the abundance of advantages mentioned above distract from the lack of FDD-LTE B7 and, consequently, poor 4G performance in Europe and the CIS. True, there is no global version of the device yet, but this drawback is not enough to spoil the impression of an otherwise impressive device.
