Honor X9d – Built for Long Battery Life

The Chinese company Honor is working hard to expand its smartphone range as efficiently as possible. The manufacturer offers a wide variety of models, not only in price categories but also in general design. For example, the subject of today's review will definitely appeal to those who value battery life in their mobile devices.

The new device's exterior looks stylish and premium, thanks to its signature circle of photo modules on the back panel, a variety of color options with IP68 water resistance, and thin display bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner. Of course, a closer look reveals signs of cost-cutting, such as the widespread use of plastic, but this doesn't significantly detract from the overall impression. The high-quality, nearly 7-inch AMOLED display offers excellent image clarity at a resolution of 2640x1200 pixels and smoothness at a refresh rate of 120Hz. Color reproduction is calibrated, with no obvious errors. A peak brightness of 4000 nits makes it easy to use in direct sunlight. And it has an oleophobic coating.

Technical specifications include a balanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, 8GB/12GB of RAM, and an Adreno 810 GPU. This combination isn't exactly gaming-oriented, but its performance is sufficient for most tasks in Android 16. Gamers will have to settle for low-medium graphics settings in resource-intensive games like Fortnite, Genshin Impact, and similar titles. What's definitely a plus is the 8300mAh battery. You'll only need to look for an outlet once every 2-3 days. Fast wired charging is also available, delivering 66W of power. Storage options are 256GB/512GB.

The weak point, however, is the camera capabilities. The main 108-megapixel Samsung module features optical stabilization, but it still lacks the detail in photos and videos of more modern 50-megapixel sensors. The 5-megapixel wide-angle lens is incredibly simple; it's difficult to capture a beautiful, artistic shot even in daylight. Stereo sound is present, but don't expect it to be loud or spacious. NFC contactless payments and 5G support round out the extensive list of advantages. And while the device is far from perfect due to its mediocre cameras and CPU, it will find its buyer without a problem.
