Huawei P50E Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei P50E Overview
Huawei P50E - peculiar simplifications
The Chinese company Huawei has almost completely reorganized into the domestic market. Unfortunately, due to US sanctions, the corporation's products still cannot be endowed with Google services and support for 5G networks, so the relevance of such smartphones for Europe and the CIS is minimal. And strange decisions like the hero of today's review, which is a simplified flagship of the company with an almost similar pricing policy, also make their contribution.
The design of the novelty has remained one of its strengths. It's hard not to be delighted at the sight of a compact monoblock made of glass and metal with such an unusual and at the same time attractive camera unit. Of course, the frameless 6.5-inch AMOLED display and a variety of body colors are pleasing to the eye. In the hand, the device lies perfectly, ergonomics are on top. The quality of the reproduced picture is flagship in terms of clarity (resolution of 2700x1224 pixels), brightness and contrast, there is also a 90-Hz image refresh rate. Controversial emotions are caused by a sub-screen fingerprint sensor. It is technological, but not particularly accurate. But there will be no complaints about the oleophobic coating - it is effective and of high quality.
The technical characteristics have seriously lost in performance. Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G is a relatively good chipset, however, it is almost twice as inferior to its top counterparts. 8GB of RAM and the Adreno 642L video chip help the processor cope with all modern games, but the same Genshin Impact will require a reduction in graphic presets to an average level. There is also throttling, but it is insignificant and does not affect the comfort of the gameplay, while less demanding applications will please the launch speed and smooth operation. The capacity of the installed battery was a modest 4100mAh . If not for the energy efficiency of the CPU and software optimization, then the autonomy would be mediocre, but in reality the user will receive about 8-9 hours of active screen time. 128 / 256GB of ROM are supplemented with a slot for MicroSD cards, rare for the value segment, which should be considered as an additional plus of the phablet.
The photo capabilities of the main 50- (Omnivision OV50A main module), 13- (wide-angle sensor) and 12-megapixel (telephoto lens with a triple zoom) cameras have not become worse. It's an amazing camera phone that handles complex shooting scenarios with ease and delivers detailed shots even in pitch darkness. Of course, it is necessary to note such advantages of the device as NFC contactless payments, high-quality stereo sound , the possibility of wireless charging and protection against moisture and dust according to IP68 standards. But the previously mentioned disadvantages, together with the inflated price tag, will clearly not benefit the sales of the device.
