Huawei Pura 70 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra Overview
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is not the most successful flagship
The Chinese company Huawei still has a loyal army of fans who buy millions of the manufacturer's devices every year. However, it is easy to notice that the abundance of serious sanctions from the United States to this day is reflected in the success of the corporation’s business and its products. Attempts to use proprietary processors and operating systems so far only lead to an increase in the gap from opponents. And the hero of today’s review is a clear confirmation of this.
The appearance of the new product is beautiful; we have one of the most beautiful phones in the highest price category. The back panel is covered with high-quality artificial leather, which is difficult to distinguish from genuine leather. The block of photomodules is original and memorable; the metal edging also adds attractiveness to the exterior. The 6.8-inch frameless display occupies more than 90% of the surface and is practically frameless along the entire perimeter. The picture surprises not only with its clarity at a resolution of 2844x1260 pixels, but also with a modern 120-Hz refresh rate, a brightness reserve of almost 3000 nits, and well-calibrated color rendition. Of course, a high-tech AMOLED panel cannot do without an accurate under-screen fingerprint scanner and an excellent oleophobic layer.
The situation with technical characteristics is worse. The newest HiSilicon Kirin 9010 is noticeably behind the top solutions from Qualcomm and MediaTek, but not without throttling. Together with 16GB of RAM and the Maleoon-910 MP4 video adapter, the chipset scores less than 1,000,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, and the most resource-intensive games will require lowering the graphics settings to medium-high presets for a stable frame rate after an hour or two of gameplay. The energy efficiency of the CPU is not bad; from a 5200 mAh battery you can actually get more than 8-9 hours of active screen time. It supports both fast wired charging with a power of 100W and its wireless alternative with 80W. The size of the permanent memory can be 512/1024GB, there is no slot for MicroSD cards.
Photo capabilities are not satisfactory. An impeccable main 50-megapixel sensor and a high-quality telephoto lens of the same 50MP with hybrid stabilization, an excellent 40-megapixel wide-angle lens easily cope with the most complex shooting scenarios, so getting a detailed evening shot of moving objects will not be difficult even for an inexperienced photographer. Stereo sound also pleases with its volume and balanced frequency response. Additional advantages include NFC contactless payments, support for satellite communications and 5G networks. The disadvantages include HarmonyOS without Google services. Many applications will not work correctly on the device. As a result, we have before us a controversial gadget, which has many more productive and at the same time less problematic competitors at a similar price.
