Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ Overview
Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ - an unnecessary model
Expanding the range of products offered is an important component of the activities of any manufacturer. It is not the last place for the Chinese company Huawei. However, the artificial allocation of the hero of today's review as a separate phone with a Plus index raises a number of questions, because there are almost no differences from its predecessor.
The appearance of the new product is virtually identical to that of the previous device, there is only one change - a set of colors for the case made of glass and metal. There are more of them, they are more varied and somewhat more interesting. The dimensions are the same, moisture protection according to IP68 standards has not disappeared, thin display frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner. The original, stylish, but still very massive camera block has not disappeared. The 6.8-inch AMOLED panel does not disappoint with image quality. The peak brightness of 3000 nits is enough for any usage scenario, the resolution of 2848x1276 pixels will be sufficient for high definition images, and the refresh rate of 120 Hz and effective oleophobic coating are not forgotten. There is practically no PWM effect.
The metamorphoses in the technical characteristics are barely noticeable. Thus, the proprietary Kirin 9020 CPU and Maleoon 910 video core now work with 16 GB of RAM, but such an increase in the amount of RAM does not really affect the performance. We see the same million points in AnTuTu, which leads to approximately medium-high graphics settings in the most resource-intensive projects. The battery capacity of 5700 mAh guarantees about two days of active use of the device. Wireless charging at 80 W is a significant plus for many electronics enthusiasts, there is also a wired analogue of 100 W. The ROM size can be 512 GB and even the top 1024 GB, so the lack of a MicroSD card slot is not upsetting.
The cameras have been transferred from the Pro version entirely. A high-quality 50 MP inch photo sensor from Smartsens and a 48 MP telephoto lens (4x optical zoom) with a hybrid stabilization system provide stunning detail in photos and video files up to 8K resolution. And even the onset of night does not turn pictures into a mess of noise and other artifacts. The stereo sound is excellent, inexpensive Bluetooth speakers can be left at home. NFC contactless payments, an IR port, and 5G support complete the list of advantages, but there is essentially one minus, but a very serious one. This is a drawback of Google services, which worsens the performance of many applications. But it is also necessary to note the increased price tag, which is why purchasing the Plus version looks like a dubious idea.
