Huawei Nova 16 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Huawei nova 16 Pro Overview
Huawei nova 16 Pro - A Mid-Range
The nova line of smartphones from the Chinese company Huawei has always covered a significant portion of the mid-price segment. However, it was the Pro models that raised the most questions. The improvements over the base model weren't particularly impressive, and it was a long way from its larger sibling, the Ultra, with its numerous competitive advantages. But today's review subject didn't change that.
The new model's appearance is beautiful. Its exterior is on par with many flagships thanks to its durable metal frame, a variety of rear glass panel colors, an unusual photo module design, and thin display bezels all around. However, the expected full IP68 dust and moisture protection never arrived, only IP65. The 6.84-inch AMOLED panel boasts a good resolution of 2856x1320 pixels for its diagonal size, ensuring excellent content clarity. The flagship peak brightness of 6000 nits ensures smooth, realistic color reproduction, and a 120 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth, realistic color reproduction.
The device's specifications include the Kirin 9010s CPU, 12 GB of RAM, and a Maleoon GPU. Unfortunately, given the device's price, a more powerful solution would have been expected. However, alternatives from MediaTek and Qualcomm are much more attractive. You can expect a million points in AnTuTu, as well as moderate to high graphics presets in the most demanding games with minimal stuttering. The 7000 mAh battery promises excellent battery life, but wireless charging is still not available. The storage capacity ranges from 256GB to 1024GB.
The photography capabilities, however, are excellent. The main 200MP sensor and 50MP telephoto lens with nearly 4x optical zoom feature hybrid image stabilization, resulting in impressive photo quality. A ToF sensor helps, capturing exceptional detail even in evening photos and videos, with minimal noise and blur. The 50MP wide-angle lens is simpler, but still produces excellent photos. Loud stereo sound, NFC contactless payments, 5G support, and an IR port for controlling home appliances round out the device's list of advantages, making it a great buy. However, for this price, users should expect a more advanced device.
