Lenovo K5 - a fragile beauty

The Chinese corporation Lenovo has not deceived its fans, promising to release a competitor to the products of the low cost segment from Xiaomi and Meizu. The hero of today's review meets all modern standards of fashion, at the same time allowing to enjoy an affordable price. But is everything ideal in a novelty in terms of ergonomics, durability and manufacturability?

Let's start with positive moments. Of course, they include an impeccable design of an exterior. A stylish glass housing with an original back panel texture, a magnificent 5.7 inches display, a double matrix and a fingerprint scanner together combine into a truly impressive appearance worthy of some flagship model. There is no reason to be disappointed with the OGS-panel, equipped with great brightness, contrast and not baf detailing of the image. The 1440x720 pixels resolution is optimal for a 3000mAh battery. Such a decision of the developer allowed to achieve more than 6 hours of active display time.

The technical characteristics, unfortunately, were out of date. The eight-core Mediatek MT6750 CPU, 3 gigabytes of RAM and the Mali T860MP2 GPU mediately cope with demanding games, guaranteeing an acceptable number of frames per second only with minimal graphics settings. But 32GB of ROM along with a slot for microSD cards make it possible to store hundreds of music compositions and video files on the apparatus, improving its multimedia component.

The rear 13 and 5-megapixel photomodules amazingly reproduce colors in daylight, preserving detailization and white balance. In the evening, the images show noises, the photographs often turn out to be blurry. The 8-megapixel frontal sensor leaves a similar impression. Support for LTE, OTG and Android Oreo will be a pleasant addition to the above parameters, however, they are inherent in most opponents. As a result, we got an attractive, but lacking competitive advantages gadget, a bit late with the release date.
