Meizu 21 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Meizu 21 Pro Overview
Meizu 21 Pro - the last flagship of the great brand?
The fate of the Chinese company Meizu is unenviable. A couple of marketing mistakes led to the fact that almost no one needed the developer’s competitive, original and technologically advanced products. The subsequent resumption of the corporation's activities under the wing of the auto giant Geely also did not contribute to tremendous success in the Middle Kingdom. Still, in a few years they managed to forget the manufacturer. And even phones like the hero of today’s review are not able to change the situation.
It's hard not to fall in love with the thoughtful design of the new product. The neat edges of the ergonomic glass and metal body, ready to boast full protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards, a beautiful block of three photomodules and a proprietary ring of LEDs on the rear panel, minimal display frames with a huge built-in fingerprint scanner indicate that we are in business we have with a representative of the highest price category. The 6.79-inch high-resolution AMOLED panel with 3192x1368 pixels also evokes positive emotions. It combines excellent picture clarity, a modern 120 Hz refresh rate, a brightness reserve of more than 2000 nits and modest color errors. Of course, there is also a high-quality oleophobic coating.
Top specifications are also included. The most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 12GB/16GB of RAM and the Adreno 750 graphics adapter also received an excellent cooling system, thanks to which they not only score significantly more than two million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, but also do not disappoint with throttling under prolonged load. Even 2-3 hours spent in resource-intensive Genshin Impact, Tank Company or Honkai: Star Rail will not cause a drop in performance. At the same time, there is no saving on autonomy. The 5050 mAh battery almost always lasts one and a half to two days of working with the mobile assistant. The battery also has fast wired charging with a power of 80W, and its wireless counterpart with a power of 50W. The permanent memory can be allocated from 256 to 1024GB of UFS 4.0 format, depending on the configuration; it cannot be expanded with MicroSD cards.
The photographic capabilities of the phablet are represented by the main 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H sensor with hybrid stabilization, a 13-megapixel wide-angle module and a 10-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (OIS + EIS). The quality of the photos and videos taken is no worse than that of the best camera phones; even evening photography will give an abundance of small details without any admixture of noise, blur and other artifacts that are unpleasant to the eye. The stereo sound is not only loud, but also rich and balanced. Of course, it would not have been possible without support for 5G networks and NFC contactless payments. But the device also has a serious flaw - the lack of a global version, the FlymeOS shell based on Android 14 does not have a wide range of languages, and Google services actually do not work. If this drawback is not significant for you, then buying a device will only cause delight.
