Meizu M10S Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Meizu M10S Overview
Meizu M10S - weak return attempts
The fate of the Chinese company Meizu cannot be called easy. From a once-potential industry leader, the corporation has turned into an organization that barely shows signs of life. Many bad decisions led to a drop in sales, the company's exit from the world market, a reduction in the budget and a significant reduction in the product range. New items, like the hero of today's review, are simply not able to return the brand to its former fame.
The appearance of the device is 99% borrowed from Apple. A similar triple photo module, similar body colors and design of an 8-megapixel selfie camera directly testify to this fact. Of the minuses of the exterior, it is difficult not to note the lack of a fingerprint sensor, inexpensive plastic. The 6.52-inch IPS display is frankly mediocre. It doesn't have a high refresh rate or huge headroom, and the HD+ resolution isn't enough to keep fonts and icons legible. There is no oleophobic glass coating.
There are fewer complaints about the technical characteristics, taking into account the price tag of the phablet. The 4-core UNISOC Tiger T310 CPU, together with 4GB of RAM and the PowerVR GT7200 video adapter, can handle not only 2D games, but also a number of modern 3D projects like Call Of Duty Mobile and PUBG. There are no problems with the interface of the operating system, however, for some reason, the developer decided to equip the Android smartphone with the outdated Android 10. 64GB of internal memory is allocated, and a microSD card slot is left for its expansion. The autonomy of the device also causes positive emotions. The 5000mAh battery, although it charges slowly (10W fast charging), provides two days of work with a mobile assistant. In this case, the user does not have to particularly limit himself.
The main 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 camera is complemented by completely useless 2 and 0.3-megapixel auxiliary sensors, installed purely for the beauty of the design. However, the module itself adequately takes daytime shots. The frames are not devoid of natural color reproduction, are replete with small details, in general, the dynamic range is also quite good. It's a pity that evening photos can no longer be praised because of the noise and blurring. This is where the positive aspects of the Android phone end. The lack of NFC and FDD-LTE B7 and B20 contactless payments (problems with 4G networks in the CIS countries), quiet mono sound is unlikely to appeal to the audience. As a result, the device turned out to be very controversial and loses to existing alternatives from Xiaomi, Realme and other A-brands.
