Meizu Note 16 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Meizu Note 16 Pro Overview
Meizu Note 16 Pro - long-awaited competitiveness
The Chinese company Meizu did not forget to update the range of smartphones in the mid-price segment. If the previous phones of this group were inferior to their opponents in literally all respects, then the hero of today's review has already acquired significantly more advanced technical characteristics and a number of important competitive advantages that distinguish it in the price category. It is a pity that the global version of the new product is still in question.
The appearance of the device is a success. All three colors look stylish and expensive, the neat round block of photo modules, as well as thin screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner attract attention. The case is mostly made of polycarbonate, but its quality does not raise questions. In addition, there is full moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen is no worse than those of its competitors, which is clear from the excellent image clarity of 2720x1224 pixels, and the modern 120 Hz refresh rate, and the peak brightness of as much as 4500 nits. The well-calibrated color rendition is also pleasing.
The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor also looks good against the background of the previously described parameters. Together with 8 GB / 12 GB / 16 GB of RAM and the Adreno 810 video adapter, the CPU scores about 800 thousand points in the AnTuTu test and generally copes with all resource-intensive tasks. It is difficult to detect noticeable lags in the Android 15 interface, and games with high-tech graphics like Genshin Impact are functional at medium-high graphics settings. The chipset is also very energy efficient, thanks to which the capacious 6200 mAh battery is ready to give out more than 10-12 hours of active screen time. At the same time, there is no need to camp out near the outlet, because the full capacity is gained in 40-45 minutes thanks to fast charging at 80 W. The permanent memory is allocated 256/512 GB without a slot for expansion. Only the photographic capabilities of the gadget can be the subject of criticism. Of the auxiliary sensors, we see only an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, with which it is sometimes difficult to take a high-quality shot even during the day.
The main 50-megapixel photo module is already more serious. It has hybrid stabilization and is suitable even for evening shooting. Noise and blur are still visible when zooming in, but there are no critical problems. Stereo sound is present, although not flagship. The volume is good, the bass is audible. Of the other advantages, we highlight NFC and support for 5G networks. But untranslated application services and the peculiar design of the FlymeOS shell are unlikely to be loved by everyone. But even such shortcomings are not able to spoil the impression of a very interesting device.
