Meizu Note 21 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Meizu Note 21 Overview
Meizu Note 21 - a trivial Chinese
It is difficult to deny the Chinese company Meizu the desire to return to the smartphone market. This is noticeable in the quality of the new phones in the middle and high price segments. But for some reason, the manufacturer decided to outsource low-cost products. So, the hero of today's review is suspiciously similar to one of the phablets of the Ulefone corporation.
The appearance of the new product is able to leave a positive impression thanks to the beautiful textures of the rear panels with their variety of colors, an interesting block of photo modules, a side fingerprint scanner. However, most of the time the user will be looking at the display, and it is no longer ready to please with thin frames or a modern form factor of an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The installed IPS panel is quite simple. It tries to surprise with a 90-Hz refresh rate and decent color rendering, but the low image clarity at a modest resolution of 1600x720 pixels, mediocre peak brightness of 500 nits do not allow the screen to be given a high rating.
The technical characteristics are the popular inexpensive UNISOC Tiger T606 chipset, 4GB/8GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter. 250,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark are unlikely to seem like something grandiose to the buyer, but such performance will help the Android 14 interface not to drown in lags, and many demanding games - to function with minimal graphics settings. Even Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact will be on their list, however, you will have to put up with slowdowns. But the autonomy thanks to the 6000 mAh battery is impressive. The need to look for power banks or sockets will appear only once every couple of days. Fast charging is also present, but only at 18W. The coveted 100% can be seen only after an hour and a half. The permanent memory is allocated 256 GB, there is also a slot for MicroSD cards.
The photographic capabilities of the main 50- and 2-megapixel cameras cause mixed emotions. With their help, you can not only capture the text of a document, but also create a series of good daytime artistic shots. However, minor deterioration in lighting leads to blurring of objects, numerous noises. There is no stereo sound, and the jack for wired headphones has disappeared. But the lack of contactless NFC payments will definitely be a critical minus for many. Thus, the device is unlikely to deserve a recommendation for purchase.
