Motorola Defy 2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Defy 2 Overview
Motorola Defy 2 - protected, but not at all dangerous?
In recent years, Motorola's products have evoked rather positive emotions, but even experienced developers cannot do without failures. For example, the manufacturer produces rather controversial smartphones of a low price category, and in the segment of waterproof devices, not everything is so smooth. So, the hero of today's review is endowed with a number of shortcomings that will negatively affect its acceptance by a demanding audience.
The appearance of the novelty already raises questions. Not the cheapest device with moisture protection according to IP68 standards, IP69K meets with giant display frames and a fingerprint sensor located at the back, which is irrelevant today. The outdated design of the 8MP selfie camera doesn't improve the exterior experience either. The stylish texture of the rubberized back panel does not save the situation. The 6.58-inch IPS screen is capable of attracting FullHD + resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but the buyer will have to forget about Always-On Display technology, and sometimes the brightness is lacking. Nevertheless, according to these parameters, IPS panels cannot keep up with AMOLED counterparts.
Specifications came out more successful. The fresh MediaTek Dimensity 930 processor, although it does not reach the heights of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon, but together with 6GB of RAM and the IMG BXM-8-256 video core, is ready to provide a responsive Android 12 interface and a smooth frame rate in games and applications. Thinking about setting up graphic presets is only necessary in the most resource-intensive projects, which include Genshin Impact, Fortnite and similar titles. Fans of long-playing mobile assistants will be pleased with the energy efficiency of the CPU used and the 5000mAh battery. With her, you will have to remember about sockets no more than once every one and a half days. But it was not without some problems. The power of wired and wireless charging is limited to a modest 15W, the full capacity will take about two hours. Internal storage, however, was not limited to 128GB of ROM, it is possible to replace one of the SIM cards with a MicroSD card.
The main 50-, 8- and 2-megapixel photomodules simply do not match the status and price tag of the gadget. These are budget sensors, the photo capabilities of which are limited to daytime shooting. The lack of optical stabilization has a bad effect on the detail and color reproduction of photos and videos. The sound isn't amazing either. There is no stereo, as well as a headphone jack. Such advantages of the phone as NFC support (contactless payment), modem operation in 5G networks are trying to brighten up the disappointment. Unfortunately, the abundance of shortcomings at a high price will not turn the device into an international hit.
