Motorola Edge 50 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Edge 50 Overview
Motorola Edge 50 - a successful imitation of the flagship
Flagship smartphones have always surpassed their cheaper counterparts in many ways, but some of the main ones were functionality and durability. Finding an inexpensive gadget with full moisture protection according to IP68 standards, wireless charging and at the same time a stylish ergonomic design is extremely difficult. However, Motorola decided to simplify this task for us.
The hero of today's review looks great. The leather-styled back panels with an original design of the camera block, the metal edging of the case, thin display frames with a built-in fingerprint sensor make the new product more beautiful than most of its classmates. The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel itself does not disappoint. The developer gave it an impressive resolution of 2712x1220 pixels, an actual 120-Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of almost 2000 nits. The picture remains visible in direct sunlight and does not disappoint with its clarity. Also, the screen has no serious errors in color rendering, and has an oleophobic coating.
The only aspect in which the manufacturer had to save is the technical specifications. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, 8 GB of RAM and the Adreno 662 video core are still noticeably behind the top solutions. The bundle scores 600-650 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark, which indicates excellent operation of the Android 14 interface, but not perfect gaming capabilities. It will be possible to launch a resource-intensive project like Genshin Impact, but it is better to limit the graphic presets to medium settings. 256 GB of permanent memory is allocated without the possibility of expansion, which will upset only a small part of the audience. Autonomy is excellent thanks to a 5000 mAh battery. It needs to be charged once every day and a half, either wirelessly (15W) or with them (68W).
The main cameras are the latest 50-megapixel Sony LYT700C sensor with hybrid stabilization, a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with three-fold optical zoom. Needless to say, the photo capabilities are excellent. Even evening shots surprise with detail, white balance, and minimal noise. Stereo sound is also not forgotten, and there are contactless NFC payments. Thus, we have before us an almost ideal representative of its price segment.
