Motorola Edge 60 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Edge 60 Overview
Motorola Edge 60 - when the price spoils the impression
Motorola, although today is not one of the most famous smartphone manufacturers in the world, is still quite popular among fans of mobile electronics. The reasons for the audience's love are the original design of the phones, balanced technical characteristics, good photo capabilities. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review cannot add an attractive price tag to the specified list.
The appearance of the new product definitely attracts attention. The fabric-like texture of the blue or green back panels, the original block of photo modules, very thin screen frames with a built-in fingerprint sensor make you fall in love with them from the first second. Although there is moisture protection according to IP68 standards, there is no metal edging. The 6.67-inch pOLED display with a resolution of 2712x1220 pixels is not much inferior to the top alternatives. It also has an outstanding refresh rate of 120 Hz, an impressive peak brightness of 4500 nits, and no problems with color rendering. The developer also did not forget about the oleophobic coating.
But with performance, everything is less clear. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and the Mali G615MC2 video accelerator are also found in much less expensive devices, which is disappointing. Yes, the Android 15 interface is not full of lags, but you will not be able to plunge into the world of resource-intensive games with maximum graphics presets. To maintain stable gameplay, you will have to set medium graphics settings. There are also questions about the battery. The 5200 mAh battery lacks wireless charging, there is only its wired analogue at 68W. Autonomy is good (8-9 hours of active screen time). The permanent memory can be 128 or 256 GB, but both configurations have a slot for MicroSD cards.
The main 50-megapixel Sony LYT700C module and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens (optical 3x Zoom), equipped with hybrid stabilization, as well as a wide-angle lens of 50 MP are responsible for high-quality photography. Evening photo sessions will not be an obstacle to obtaining detailed images without an abundance of artifacts, but the use of the flagship chipset from Qualcomm with advanced processing algorithms would make the results even better. The stereo sound is uniform, quite loud, and other advantages include contactless payment NFC, support for 5G networks. Thus, if the device were a little cheaper, it would be simply impossible to find fault with it.
