Motorola Moto Edge S30 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Moto Edge S30 Overview
Motorola Moto Edge S30 - budget flagship for China
Motorola has been owned by Lenovo for quite some time. It is not surprising that the legendary manufacturer is now producing smartphones both for the global market and directly for the Middle Kingdom. The hero of today's review belongs precisely to the second category of devices, however, many users from Europe and the CIS will want to buy it for themselves, even taking into account all the difficulties of an international purchase.
The appearance of the novelty turned out to be more than successful, even though the designers had to save money to contain the growth of the cost price. The rear panel is distinguished by a rich color palette, a beautiful block of three cameras, and a stylish corporate logo is not lost. But the Android phone itself is made of plastic, and its glossy finish is very easy to scratch. But the side face has an accurate fingerprint sensor. The 6.8-inch IPS screen is the most controversial aspect of the device. A high resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels, an excellent 144Hz refresh rate and an oleophobic layer combine in an OGS display with far from record contrast and brightness values. A number of opponents can boast of more interesting counterparts.
But you can't find fault with the technical characteristics. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus CPU, 6GB / 8GB / 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 660 video accelerator, in theory, become the most productive bundle today. In reality, the situation is not so rosy due to overheating. The cooling system does not quite cope with its work, so the maximum graphics presets in Genshin Impact after half an hour will lead to minor, but still unpleasant jams. The chipset is not particularly energy efficient, but the potential lack of autonomy is eliminated thanks to the 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The amount of internal storage varies from 128 to 256GB , depending on the version of the phablet, there is a slot for microSD cards.
108-, 13- and 2-megapixel photosensors led by Samsung HM2 amaze with the number of the mentioned megapixels, but the phone in question is far from being a real camera phone. This fact is especially noticeable in evening shots, in which it is easy to see noise and a drop in detail. But with daytime photographs, these problems do not manifest themselves. Wireless charging, moisture protection, stereo sound - the developer also had to save on these things, otherwise the price tag would not be so democratic. But contactless NFC payments and support for 5G networks are present. Unfortunately, untranslated settings items and applications not adapted for other countries are also available. However, such shortcomings are unlikely to spoil the impression of an extremely powerful yet inexpensive Android smartphone.
