Motorola Moto G86 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Moto G86 5G Overview
Motorola Moto G86 5G - stylish and at the same time lagging behind competitors
The G-line of smartphones from Motorola is not surprising this year. The manufacturer decided not to take risks and release very conservative models in all respects, which are not capable of striking the heart of a sophisticated audience. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review also fits this description.
The appearance of the new product has many original distinctive features. This includes the signature design of photo modules, and unusual colors of cases with a tactilely pleasant matte finish, and thin display frames around the perimeter. The monoblock also has moisture protection according to IP68 standards. But it is not without its drawbacks. Perhaps the main one is the widespread use of polycarbonate instead of tempered glass or metal. The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel has a good picture clarity for the price segment at a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, excellent image smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, natural color rendition, and the PWM effect is moderate. The maximum brightness reaches 4500-5000 nits, which is almost a flagship result.
The technical characteristics include the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and the Mali G615-MC2 video adapter. The bundle is definitely not bad in terms of performance and energy efficiency, but there are more impressive alternatives in the price category. So, you can count on 650 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, medium-high graphic presets, but sometimes lower ones in resource-intensive games. The Android 15 OS functions smoothly, without obvious slowdowns. If there are no questions about the battery capacity (5200 mAh), as well as about the autonomy it provides (about two days of active use), then fast wired charging is only 30 W, and there is no wireless analog. ROM is allocated 256 GB, but at the same time there is a slot for MicroSD cards.
The photographic capabilities of the 50- and 8-megapixel sensors are far from outstanding. The wide-angle lens is simply mediocre, and the main Sony LYT-600 sensor, although equipped with hybrid stabilization, is also found in much cheaper phones. Daytime photos and video files are not devoid of detail and correct color rendering, but when the lighting deteriorates, it is difficult not to notice an abundance of problems. Noise and other artifacts appear. For some reason, there is no stereo sound. If we recall other advantages of the device, their list will be supplemented with NFC contactless payments, an under-screen fingerprint scanner and support for 5G networks. However, many controversial points should not be typical for an expensive gadget. It is impossible to definitely recommend it for purchase.
