Motorola Moto G96 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Motorola Moto G96 5G Overview
Motorola Moto G96 5G - beauty with flaws
Motorola smartphones definitely have originality and originality. Their design is difficult to confuse with that of their opponents, and this is a compliment, not criticism. At the same time, most of the devices are also extremely competitive in their price segment. However, the latter statement does not apply to the hero of today's review.
The appearance of the new product is impressive. Before us is a truly beautiful phone, which has a variety of case colors with a corrugated texture of the back panel and full moisture protection according to IP68 standards, an ergonomic shape, a stylish camera block and an almost frameless display around the entire perimeter. The AMOLED screen is also not bad. Yes, it will not amaze the imagination with the clarity of the picture at a FullHD + resolution, but it has a rare refresh rate of as much as 144 Hz, a decent maximum brightness of 2000 nits, and is free of problems with image transmission. Of course, the modern technological device has acquired an under-screen fingerprint scanner and a high-quality oleophobic coating of the AMOLED panel.
The situation with technical characteristics is less rosy. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 CPU with 5G network support is also used in much cheaper units, its performance when working with 8 GB of RAM and an Adreno 710 video adapter reaches 600 thousand points in the AnTuTu test. The result is not the worst, but many chipsets in the cost category score twice as much. If there are no questions about the smoothness of the Android 15 interface, then the most resource-demanding games will require a reduction in graphics settings, sometimes seriously. Possible problems with autonomy are eliminated by both the energy efficiency of the processor and a capacious 5500 mAh battery. You can go a couple of days without thinking about sockets and power banks, and the recharging process itself will take about an hour (charging power is 33W). The permanent memory is 128/256 GB, while there is no slot for MicroSD cards.
The photographic capabilities are somewhat controversial. Of the auxiliary modules, there is only an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens of mediocre quality, there is simply no telephoto lens. But the main 50-megapixel Sony LYT700C sensor with hybrid stabilization copes well with both daytime and evening photo sessions. Even night shots are only slightly spoiled by noise and blur, the detail almost does not fall. There are stereo speakers, the sound is uniform, the bass is audible, but the volume is still not record-breaking. But contactless NFC payments will not be in all regional versions of the unit. Thus, we have a potentially interesting, but low-performance gadget with not very advanced cameras. I can't definitely recommend it for purchase.
