Nothing Phone (3a) Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Nothing Phone (3a) Pro Overview
Nothing Phone (3a) Pro - improvements that can be seen under a magnifying glass
The presentation of the updated line of mid-range smartphones by the Chinese company Nothing was controversial. Thus, both models turned out to be almost identical in design and technical characteristics. You have to look for differences almost with a microscope, but in the end, the hero of today's review still received the Pro index for a reason.
The appearance of the new product is quite beautiful, but there are also several controversial points. Thus, not all fans of the brand positively perceived the new round block of photo modules. The signature "transparent" case with LED glyphs, interesting colors of the back panels and a frameless 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint scanner look great. I don't want to find fault with the quality of the output AMOLED panel. The peak brightness of 3000 nits is close to that of flagships, there is also a well-calibrated color rendition, and a 120-Hz image refresh rate. Only the resolution could be slightly higher than the standard 2392x1080 pixels for a diagonal.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor is becoming increasingly popular in relatively inexpensive gadgets. Together with 8GB/12GB of RAM and the Adreno 810 video accelerator, the chipset jumps over the 800 thousand point bar in the AnTuTu test and offers quite impressive performance. Of course, such power is more than enough to display the Android 15 interface, and resource-intensive games like Zenless Zone Zero feel great with medium-high graphics presets. The battery capacity of 5000 mAh is no longer outstanding by today's standards, but the autonomy of 8-9 hours does not seem mediocre. For some reason, the phablet is deprived of wireless charging, but there is a wired analogue of 50 W. It needs to be near the outlet for about 45-50 minutes. The permanent memory can be allocated 128/256 GB, there is no slot for MicroSD cards.
Somewhere, finally, metamorphoses are visible, so this is in photographic capabilities. The main 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GNJ photo module and the same 50 MP Sony LYT600 telephoto lens with three-fold optical zoom are equipped with hybrid stabilization and show themselves remarkably in literally any shooting scenario. Dynamic scenes in poor lighting will not abound in noise and blur. Also, the improved 50-megapixel selfie camera does not disappoint. Stereo sound is available. Bluetooth speakers will not replace the speakers, but you can watch movies or listen to music without violence to your hearing. Contactless payments NFC and the modem working in 5G networks complete the list of advantages of the device, the extra payment for which will be relevant only for mobile photographers.
