Nothing Phone (4a) Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Nothing Phone (4a) Overview
Nothing Phone (4a) - Originality as the Key to Success
The Chinese company Nothing is known for the excellent yet distinctive design of its smartphones. And the company continues to maintain this competitive advantage. Thus, the hero of today's review, while not instantly captivating, certainly stands out from its otherwise monotonous competitors.
As mentioned earlier, the new phone's appearance is interesting. A beautiful camera module, a futuristic textured back panel, an unusual Glyph Bar made of individual squares for displaying notifications and device status, and thin screen bezels with a built-in fingerprint scanner make the exterior extremely attractive. The only criticisms that can be leveled at it are the widespread use of plastic and the lack of full water resistance (IP64 only). The 6.78-inch AMOLED display is very good. The 2720x1224 resolution is a perfect fit for the diagonal, with smooth content at a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a massive peak brightness of 4500 nits. Natural color reproduction and an oleophobic coating are also included.
The technical specifications include a fresh Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 CPU, 8GB/12GB of RAM, and an Adreno 810 GPU, which together deliver around 850,000-900,000 points in AnTuTu. This balanced solution offers decent performance for rendering the Android 16 interface and the vast majority of processes. Resource-intensive games run smoothly on the device, although you sometimes have to sacrifice beautiful graphics for stable gameplay. Battery life, however, is average. The 5080mAh battery (5400mAh in some regional versions) provides up to 8-9 hours of active screen time. They skimped on wireless charging, and the wired alternative's 50W power isn't exceptional. 128GB/256GB of storage is available.
The photography capabilities are worthy of praise. The high-quality 50MP main sensor from Samsung and the 3x zoom telephoto lens (also 50MP) feature hybrid image stabilization and are perfect for even evening photo sessions. Photos and videos are rich in fine detail, though they can sometimes be subject to noise, slight blurring, or color rendition errors. Stereo speakers are present, with decent bass and volume, and support for 5G networks and NFC contactless payment. Ultimately, we have before us a bright, technologically advanced, though by no means perfect, gadget, which is definitely worth purchasing.
