Oppo K12 Plus Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OPPO K12 Plus Overview
OPPO K12 Plus - a bestseller that will pass us by?
The Chinese company Oppo surprises with its selection of smartphones for various markets. Thus, many excellent models are released directly for China, which could well become world hits. But for some inexplicable reasons, the manufacturer decided to deprive the countries of Europe and the CIS of sales of full-fledged international versions of such devices. Unfortunately, the situation is also relevant for the hero of today's review.
They definitely worked hard on the design of the new product. The ergonomic and thin monoblock is made of high-quality polycarbonate, which almost does not collect fingerprints. The block of a pair of photo modules is stylish and neat, decorated with a ring of LED flashes, the front surface pleases with a frameless display with a built-in fingerprint scanner. The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is endowed with a good, although not flagship peak brightness of 1200 nits, which is generally enough to work with the phablet in direct sunlight. Other advantages of the displayed image are clarity at a resolution of 2412x1080 pixels, smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the absence of a PWM effect. Color rendition is calibrated without serious errors.
The technical characteristics are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 CPU, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and the Adreno 720 video core. The bundle has already proven itself in several recently released phones. Performance of more than 800 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, minimal throttling and outstanding energy efficiency allow us to recommend the chipset for all categories of users. Even gamers will be pleased, because all resource-intensive games work stably at medium-high graphics settings. Autonomy deserves only compliments, the device functions for about two days of active use from a 6400 mAh battery. The power of fast charging has reached a not shameful 80 W. The size of the permanent memory has also bypassed the problems, 256/512 GB of ROM can be easily expanded with MicroSD cards.
But the photo capabilities would be better if the device had a telephoto lens, and a high-quality wide-angle module would come in handy. The 8-megapixel sensor used can hardly be considered as such, but the main 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 camera with hybrid stabilization is not afraid even of evening photo sessions and capturing dynamic events. The details of small objects are preserved in the pictures, the amount of noise and blur does not approach critical. Of course, the technologically advanced modern gadget is not without support for 5G networks, NFC, there is even an IR port for controlling household appliances. But there is also a reason for frustration, namely the lack of FDD-LTE B7, the presence of untranslated applications and services for the Celestial Empire. If such disadvantages are not critical for you, then buying the device under consideration will be a justified decision.
