OUKITEL C72 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OUKITEL C72 Overview
OUKITEL C72 - A Pointless Cloning
The specialists at the Chinese company OUKITEL know how to surprise, but always with pleasure. For some reason, the renowned developer decided to create several devices that are literally identical and quite unusual, even for their low price segment. They have many competitive advantages, but they also have obvious drawbacks.
The new device's appearance is memorable not only due to its variety of colors to suit every taste, but also due to its modern camera module and secondary 1.81-inch screen (displaying the time, notifications, and other statistics). However, the design of the 8-megapixel front camera is outdated, and the display bezels are wide. The 6.88-inch main IPS panel is mediocre. Its most serious drawback is the 1650x720 pixel resolution, which does not allow for image clarity. The peak brightness of 450 nits is also unimpressive, and direct sunlight significantly reduces the visibility of content. However, it does have a 90Hz refresh rate and still offers decent color reproduction.
The technical specifications include a UNISOC Tiger T615 processor, Mali G57MP1 graphics card, and 4GB of RAM, which limit the potential of even basic connectivity. Resource-intensive games, even at minimum settings, are prone to freezing and lag, sometimes even crashing to the desktop. Many apps in the tray also don't stay in place for long, often restarting due to insufficient RAM. On the other hand, the device's power efficiency is good, and the 5150 mAh battery is enough for one and a half to two days of use with the mobile assistant. However, the charging power is simply laughable by today's standards (10W), meaning the device will need to be plugged in for a very long time. Internal storage, however, is not expected to be an issue, as the 128GB can always be expanded with a MicroSD card.
The photography capabilities are decent for a very inexpensive device. The secondary 0.3-megapixel modules are purely for show, but the main 64-megapixel sensor is slightly better than those of its competitors. Of course, there's no mention of hybrid image stabilization, but daytime photos are detailed and color reproduction is natural in most cases. The single speaker produces a simple, quiet sound. The manufacturer also skimped on NFC contactless payments. So, this is a standalone device with relatively good photography capabilities, yet marred by dozens of minor and major flaws.
