OUKITEL WP36 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OUKITEL WP36 Pro Overview
OUKITEL WP36 Pro - not so simple
Recently, smartphone manufacturers often surprise with strange decisions in expanding the range of products. Thus, the Chinese company Aukitel has released another Pro version of its rather popular device, which in some aspects is even inferior to its predecessor.
The appearance of the new product has not undergone any changes. On the one hand, the reinforced strength of the rubberized case, its moisture protection according to IP68 standards, the beautiful design of a very large, balanced-sounding speaker (128 dB), two photo modules have been preserved, on the other hand, we are dealing with the same huge dimensions, mediocre ergonomics, large display frames, an outdated form factor of a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There are no improvements in the 6.52-inch IPS panel either. The increased refresh rate has not appeared, the brightness reserve is still small (about 550 nits), the clarity of the picture at a resolution of 1600x720 pixels is not amazing either.
It is not easy to explain the metamorphoses that have occurred with the technical characteristics. The MediaTek MT8788 processor and Mali G72MP3 video accelerator are in place, as are the 200 thousand points scored in the AnTuTu test, and the amount of RAM has been reduced to 6 GB of RAM. Fortunately, this simplification has not affected the operation of the interface of the updated Android 14. The most resource-intensive gaming applications will not be available to the user, but it will be quite possible to play PUBG Mobile or World Of Tanks Blitz. Autonomy of 10600 mAh is one of the main competitive advantages of the device, because it guarantees up to 3-4 days of active use of the phablet. The charging power was left at 18W, you need to spend at least three hours at a socket or power bank. Finally, an improvement - the internal storage size has been increased to 256 GB while maintaining a slot for MicroSD cards.
But the photo capabilities are still terrible. 13 and 2-megapixel cameras, led by the frankly old Sony IMX135 sensor, have difficulty even with daytime shooting. Document capture and video communication will be the main scenarios for their use. There is no separate headphone jack, you need to use a wireless headset. But there are contactless NFC payments, the shopping process in supermarkets will be noticeably faster. As a result, the increased price tag and the presence of many no less, and sometimes even more interesting opponents call into question the commercial success of the gadget under consideration.
