OUKITEL WP36 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OUKITEL WP36 Overview
OUKITEL WP36 - chasing sound
The Chinese company Oukitel continues to expand its range of secure smartphones, giving them new competitive advantages. So, the hero of today's review surprises with a huge speaker capable of producing a volume of 128 dB. But do other technical characteristics of the gadget correspond to the price tag? Unfortunately no.
The appearance of the new product is memorable, although far from ideal. Protection from dust and moisture according to IP68 standards negatively affected the dimensions of the device and the thickness of the display frames, but the exterior still remains attractive due to the original block of photo modules, the beautiful texture of the rear panel, and the presence of stylized metal elements. It’s no longer possible to praise the 6.52-inch IPS display. The HD+ resolution is not enough for picture clarity, there is no increased image refresh rate, and the brightness reserve of 600 nits is still small for comfortable work with the mobile assistant in direct sunlight. The developer also saved money on the oleophobic coating.
The MediaTek MT8788 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G72MP3 video core are a good choice for an affordable phone. More than 200 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark indicate that lags in the Android 13 interface will not be frequent. The gaming capabilities, of course, are not the most extensive; you will have to be content with not particularly resource-intensive projects like Call Of Duty Mobile with reduced graphic presets. A 10600 mAh battery increases the autonomy of the phablet to a level of 15 hours of active screen time. It’s a pity that with a modest charging power of 15W, the device needs to be plugged in all night. 128GB of permanent memory is allocated; you can expand it with MicroSD cards at any moment.
With photo capabilities, everything is terrible. The ancient main 13-megapixel Sony IMX135 sensor and virtually useless 2-megapixel auxiliary modules only cope with capturing documents; even daytime photographs are sometimes disappointing with poor detail, noise, and blurred objects. The sound of the Android phone, as noted earlier, is phenomenal. It is simply better than that of inexpensive BlueTooth speakers. Among the advantages, we also note NFC contactless payments. However, a number of advantages do not correct the impression of the critical disadvantages of the controversial unit. I can’t definitely recommend it for purchase.
