OUKITEL WP55 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OUKITEL WP55 Pro Overview
OUKITEL WP55 Pro - unnecessary improvements
Pro versions of smartphones in the vast majority of cases please buyers with positive changes in a number of parameters at once, thanks to which the new model is perceived as a product of a higher level. However, sometimes you don’t want to overpay for the changes offered by the developers. And, unfortunately, the hero of today’s review evokes exactly such feelings.
The appearance of the new product is actually similar to that of its predecessor, which is rather disappointing. Yes, the camera block is still stylish, the side fingerprint scanner is in place, and the textures of the rear panels have clearly been worked on. But the archaic design of the 32-megapixel selfie camera, wide display frames around the entire perimeter, and the huge dimensions of the monoblock are unlikely to please future users, although they are explained by moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The 6.58-inch IPS screen has not undergone any modifications. Its downsides are a modest brightness reserve, due to which direct sunlight absorbs most of the image visibility, as well as a faded color rendering compared to AMOLED alternatives. But the resolution and, as a result, the clarity of the content is quite good (2408x1080 pixels), and there are no problems with smoothness at a 120-Hz refresh rate.
Technical specifications have changed little. The RAM has grown to 16 GB, but does the world's least productive MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor and IMG BXM-8-256 video core need it? Unlikely. The benchmark results are the same (about 500 thousand points in the AnTuTu test), so the Android 15 interface is still smooth, but the gaming capabilities have not advanced. You can launch Genshin Impact or Fortnite at minimum or close to them graphics settings. The battery capacity is preserved, 11000 mAh is enough for 3-4 days of active use of the device, but it will take a long time to charge it (power of 33 W). The permanent memory was increased to 512 GB, there is a slot for MicroSD cards.
The photo capabilities are the same, which is somewhat disappointing given the increased price tag. Auxiliary photo sensors are close to the title of useless (8-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor and 2-megapixel macro module), the main 108-megapixel module from Samsung without optical stabilization is good for daytime shooting, but in the evening, noise, blur, and other artifacts appear in photos. The sound is also not impressive. The volume of the only speaker is decent, but the frequency response is not particularly uniform. As for other advantages, we will include NFC contactless payments and support for 5G networks. However, in the end, the device evokes mixed emotions, because there are not many differences from its affordable brother.
