OnePlus 13S Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus 13s Overview
OnePlus 13s - compact, powerful and not perfect
The fashion for small smartphones is back again. More and more people are looking for an ergonomic mobile assistant that is convenient to operate with one hand. The Chinese company OnePlus also presented a similar model. The hero of today's review is at the bottom of the highest price segment and is ready to provide top performance, good photo capabilities and decent battery life, but some simplifications compared to flagships can scare you away from buying.
The appearance of the new product is beautiful. The original block of two photo modules, not very wide display frames, metal edging, matte glass back panel leave a positive impression. But they saved on moisture protection, because it has only the IP65 standard. The 6.32-inch AMOLED screen is characterized by an excellent resolution for the diagonal of 2640x1216 pixels, excellent smoothness of content with an image refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is also worth mentioning the responsive built-in fingerprint sensor, close to natural color rendering. Peak brightness reaches 4500 nits, so working with the gadget outdoors in the summer is quite comfortable.
Of course, there is no question about the technical characteristics. The amazing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset functions with 12 GB of RAM and an Adreno 830 video adapter, which leads to crazy results in benchmarks. The famous AnTuTu gives about three million points. However, the bundle has throttling, because it is more difficult to organize an effective cooling system in a small monoblock. However, its values are not critical, even in resource-intensive games like Fortnite or Honkai: Star Rail, the drop in framerate is not considered large. But the heating is very noticeable. The battery capacity is 5850 mAh, which is a pleasant surprise. A couple of days of work with the unit are guaranteed. There is a fast wired charger at 80W, but for some reason there is no wireless analog. And we are not dealing with the cheapest device. The permanent memory is allocated 256/512 GB.
Photographic capabilities are peculiar. So, there is no wide-angle lens, but a 50-megapixel telephoto lens from Samsung with a two-fold zoom is installed. The main Sony LYT700C module with hybrid stabilization shows itself well even in the evening, but still the photos are weaker in detail than those of photo flagships. But the stereo sound is rich and loud. NFC contactless payments, 5G network support, an IR port complete the list of advantages of the device, which can find its audience. However, a number of compromises do not allow us to recommend it to everyone.
