OnePlus Ace 3 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Ace 3 Overview
OnePlus Ace 3 - perfection without frills
It’s hard to surprise a modern lover of mobile electronics. He is already accustomed to flagship processors, innovative phone form factors, and other competitive advantages of products. However, the impeccable combination of price and quality can still be the main factor in the success of a smartphone. And this is exactly what the Chinese company OnePlus aimed for when producing the hero of today’s review.
The design of the new product is no worse than that of its opponents at double the price. The barely noticeable display bezels combine perfectly with the stylish round camera block, metal and tempered glass in an ergonomic body. It’s a pity that there was no place for complete moisture protection in the exterior. The 6.78-inch AMOLED panel has a resolution of 2780x1264 pixels, so there is an excellent balance between image clarity and maintaining the energy efficiency of the phablet. The advantages of the AMOLED screen include a 120-Hz picture refresh rate, a brightness value of 1700 nits, and small errors in color rendition. Of course, a high-tech device cannot do without a high-quality under-screen fingerprint scanner and an excellent oleophobic coating on the AMOLED display.
Technical characteristics are the best for a sub-flagship today. There are practically no analogues of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU; with 12GB/16GB of RAM and an Adreno 740 video accelerator, such a chipset demonstrates 1,300,000 points in the AnTuTu test, with a frame rate above 50-60 frames per second in all existing Android games with maximum graphic presets. At the same time, the energy consumption of the chip is reasonable; the 5500 mAh battery is able to provide good autonomy at the level of 8-9 hours of active screen time. There is no wireless charging, which will upset some buyers, but the power of the wired alternative has been increased to 100W. 25 minutes near an outlet will pass unnoticed. Of course, it could not be done without a huge amount of permanent memory in 256/512GB of UFS 4.0 format.
The photo capabilities of the device are wide, although it is not a top-end camera phone. The 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor (hybrid EIS + OIS), 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and 2-megapixel macro camera cover a significant range of shooting scenarios in which you can get detailed photos and videos without noise and blur. Stereo speakers have a good volume reserve with bass. Android 14 (branded ColorOS and OxygenOS shells), NFC support and a low price tag compared to competitors increase the attractiveness of an already relevant gadget.
