OnePlus Ace 6 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Ace 6 Overview
OnePlus Ace 6 – a simplified yet affordable flagship
The Chinese company OnePlus is known for its ability to create compelling smartphones in every respect, straddling the mid- to high-end price segments. These extremely well-balanced and technologically advanced devices have won the hearts of millions of users. Today's review subject adheres to this principle, leaving its competitors truly in stitches.
The new device's appearance is not bad, though it's not exactly the best. The dual camera module and slightly noticeable display bezels (even though they're uniform all the way around) make the exterior look a bit cheap. However, the various beautiful textures on the tempered glass back panel, the metal frame, and the slim body, coupled with IP68 water resistance, still earn it an excellent design rating. The nearly 7-inch AMOLED panel with an integrated fingerprint scanner boasts a resolution of 2800x1272 pixels, which isn't record-breaking but is optimal for its diagonal size. It also boasts a blazing 165Hz refresh rate and a respectable 2500 nits of brightness. The manufacturer also worked on the screen's color reproduction and minimized the PWM effect.
The technical specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, 12GB/16GB of RAM, and an Adreno 830 GPU, ensuring excellent performance in any task. Even the most demanding gamers won't be disappointed. Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Fortnite—the list of resource-intensive games running at maximum graphics settings is endless. The frame rate in these titles will exceed 100 frames per second. The 7800 mAh battery clearly suggests battery life won't be an issue. 12-15 hours of active screen time won't be uncommon. While they skimped on wireless charging, the wired alternative has been boosted to 120W. Internal storage options include 256, 512, or 1024 GB.
Photography is also somewhat limited. There's no telephoto lens, and the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is very basic. The main 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor with hybrid stabilization is a lifesaver. It's the perfect solution for capturing high-quality photos and videos with plenty of fine detail, even in the evening. Stereo sound is loud, rich, and pleasant to the ear. Support for 5G networks, NFC contactless payments, and an IR port are also included. However, the focus on the Chinese market, with its un-removable apps and services, and the lack of FDD-LTE B7 will be a disappointment for buyers until the global version is released. But such shortcomings are easily forgiven for such a powerful, long-lasting, and affordable device.
