OnePlus Nord 5 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Nord 5 Overview
OnePlus Nord 5 - the return of a hit
The Nord line of smartphones from the Chinese company OnePlus has sold millions of copies. The reason for such popularity of the phones was the excellent combination of affordable prices, almost flagship processor and sophisticated software. The hero of today's review does not change traditions, and also adds even more advanced photographic capabilities to the list of competitive advantages.
The appearance of the new product is more modern. The block of three photo modules resembles that of the brand’s flagships, the colors of the glass rear panel have been updated, and the display frames are now thinner, smoothly transitioning to the edging. It's a pity that it is made of plastic and not metal. This solution by the developer allowed us to reduce costs, but the tactile sensations from the case are not as pleasant as they could be. But the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is a real delight. Impressive picture clarity with a resolution of 2700x1224 pixels, the current 120 Hz image refresh rate and brightness exceeding 2500 nits allow us to give the AMOLED panel the highest rating. Of course, it would be impossible to obtain it without a high-quality built-in fingerprint scanner, realistic color rendering and an effective oleophobic layer.
The technical characteristics are the stunning Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 CPU, 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 735 video core. This is a chipset that reaches new heights of performance and energy efficiency. More than 1,600,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark mean extremely stable frame rates in any games with maximum graphic settings. Even Genshin Impact will be no exception to this rule. At the same time, a 5000mAh battery often provides more than 8-9 hours of active screen time, which is an excellent result. Unfortunately, there is still no wireless charging, but its wired counterpart has reached a power of 100W. 256/512GB of permanent memory are allocated, ROM format is UFS 4.0.
The 50-megapixel main Sony LYT800 sensor (also equipped with hybrid stabilization), a 32-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens will make you not worry about the quality of both daytime and evening shots. Detailing, color reproduction, white balance - it’s very difficult to find fault with the resulting photos and videos, if you remember the price tag of the phablet. Stereo sound also does not disappoint with its volume and balanced frequency response. NFC contactless payment, splash protection according to IP54 standards and optimized Android 14 (OxygenOS and ColorOS shells for various regional versions of the gadget) add to the list of advantages of a device that is remarkable in all respects.
