OnePlus Turbo 6X Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Turbo 6X Overview
The OnePlus Turbo 6X is a too-simple smartphone.
Still, the Chinese company OnePlus has much more experience creating high-end phones. Its flagship and sub-flagship products impress with their combination of price and quality, which can't be said for many devices in more affordable price categories. Thus, the subject of today's review, although relatively well-balanced, still falls short of its many competitors in several areas.
The design of the new device is similar to that of its older siblings, but it does have a number of drawbacks. The most significant are the widespread use of inexpensive plastic and the wide bottom bezel of the display. However, it's difficult to find fault with the case colors, the photo module assembly looks modern, and the side fingerprint scanner is quite convenient. The 6.72-inch IPS panel lags significantly behind its AMOLED counterparts in peak brightness. 600 nits is still insufficient for comfortable use of the mobile assistant in direct sunlight. However, color reproduction isn't particularly washed out, clarity is good at FullHD+ resolution, and content is smooth at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There's practically no oleophobic word.
Technical specifications are typical for its class. The combination of a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 CPU, 8GB/12GB RAM, and a Mali G615-MC2 GPU achieves 650,000-700,000 points in AnTuTu v10 and helps the Android 16 interface (ColorOS shell) avoid lag. Gamers, of course, won't be as pleased with the performance, as resource-intensive games will only be free of stuttering at low-to-medium graphics presets. Battery life is unimpeded, with a battery capacity of 7000 mAh. The battery guarantees 10 or more hours of active screen time. Of course, there's no wireless charging, but at least the wired one offers 45W of power. Storage options include 128GB/256GB, but the developer has also included a MicroSD card slot.
The photography capabilities of the main 50-megapixel sensor without optical image stabilization and the 2-megapixel depth sensor aren't impressive. It's best to avoid evening photo sessions, and try to avoid lots of moving objects during the day. In this case, artistic photography with decent detail will be possible. Stereo speakers are present, but they're quiet and lack pronounced bass. NFC contactless payments and 5G support haven't been cut, which is a big plus. However, there's no room in the price tag for full IP68 water resistance. Ultimately, this is an unremarkable device for its price, not worthy of special attention.
