Oppo Find X9s – Simplification for Buyers

The Chinese company Oppo has decided to expand its flagship smartphone lineup, and do so at a more affordable price. Today's review subject retains all its competitive advantages while offering significant savings.

The new model's appearance is virtually identical to its predecessor. Its distinctive advantages include the original photo module assembly, distinctive tempered glass and metal case colors, the ergonomic candybar shape with rounded edges, and the minimal screen bezels all around. The overall appearance is beautiful, eye-catching, and premium. The 6.59-inch AMOLED panel retains its built-in fingerprint sensor. It also offers excellent image clarity at a resolution of 2760x1256 pixels, excellent smoothness at a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a high brightness of 3600 nits. I can't find fault with either the color rendition or the quality of the oleophobic coating.

The technical specifications have dropped slightly in terms of performance, but don't be upset. The power of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s CPU, 12/16GB of RAM, and Mali G925 Immortalis MP12 GPU is sufficient for impressive results in synthetic benchmarks (almost 3,000,000 points in AnTuTu) and for incredibly smooth gameplay at any graphics settings in any resource-intensive game. The frame rate is also completely stable at the highest settings, often exceeding 100-120 frames per second. The battery capacity has reached 7025 mAh, so 9-10 hours of screen time will be commonplace. Wireless charging has unfortunately been removed, but at least the 80W wired charging option remains. Internal storage is 256GB/512GB.

However, the photography capabilities aren't overly simplified. The main, large 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor and the 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom feature hybrid image stabilization and are up to the task in challenging shooting situations. Low light and multiple moving objects don't significantly affect the detail of photos and videos. Other highlights include loud stereo speakers, NFC contactless payments, IP68 water resistance, and 5G and eSIM support. Thus, if these minor compromises don't deter the future user, the device will bring nothing but positive emotions.
