Oppo Reno 11 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oppo Reno 11 Pro Overview
Oppo Reno 11 Pro - when the older model is inferior to the younger one
Making a balanced flagship line of smartphones is very difficult. So, the manufacturer needs to surprise fans of phones in the highest price category with the technology and beauty of the new product, and not leave fans of cheaper devices without functionality. The Chinese company Oppo managed to create such a successful basic representative of the Reno series that its more expensive “neighbor” looks like an unnecessary overpayment.
The appearance of the device is interesting and original, but not without controversial issues. The main one is a kind of triple camera unit. The remaining components of the beautiful exterior, namely the attractive colors and textures of the rear glass panels, metal edging, almost no display bezels with a built-in fingerprint sensor in place. The 6.74-inch AMOLED screen deserves the highest praise. It combines image detail with a resolution of 2772x1240 pixels, smoothness with a 120 Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 1800 nits, and realistic color reproduction. The AMOLED panel does not lack an excellent oleophobic coating.
The technical characteristics are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 12GB of RAM, Adreno 740 video core. The combination really pleases with both performance and energy efficiency, but the one used in the “regular” version of MediaTek Dimensity 8200 is a little worse. Gaming applications function decently at high graphics presets; even such resource-intensive hits as Honkai: Star Rail and Fortnite are no exception. The battery capacity is not a record, but 4700 mAh is enough for 8-9 hours of active screen time. The developer did not forget about fast wired charging with a power of 80W. The ROM size can be 256/512GB in UFS 4.0 format.
The photographic capabilities of the main 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890 sensor with hybrid stabilization), 32-megapixel (telephoto lens with 2x zoom) and 8-megapixel (wide-angle lens) cameras are good, but there is no significant difference from those of the “ordinary” brother. Daytime and evening shots are replete with details; if there is any noise, it is in small quantities. The stereo sound is impressive in volume, and the frequency response is quite smooth. NFC contactless payments and 5G support are present, which cannot be said about the expected wireless charging and moisture protection. As a result, the additional payment for the device in question seems unnecessary.
