Oppo Reno8 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oppo Reno8 5G Overview
Oppo Reno8 5G - a new stage in the life of the series
Over the past couple of years, the average price segment of smartphones has undergone significant changes. It also includes a significant increase in the performance of technical characteristics, and an improvement in photographic capabilities. The hero of today's review turned out to be somewhat more expensive than its predecessors, but this is really an uncompromising gadget without obvious flaws.
Oppo's designers tried to make the new product not only beautiful, but also comfortable. The compact glass body fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and pleases with the design of the triple camera, the stylish glossy texture of the back panel and, of course, the almost imperceptible screen bezels. The 6.43-inch AMOLED display has impressive image clarity, because FullHD + resolution is used with a relatively small diagonal. A bright picture is visible in direct sunlight and is ready to surprise even with a 90-Hz refresh rate. This parameter affects the smoothness of the content and, as a result, the comfort of prolonged interaction with the AMOLED screen.
The Qualcomm MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset (8GB / 12GB RAM, Mali G77MC9 video accelerator) is close to flagship standards. Any resource-intensive games function flawlessly regardless of graphic presets, in addition, the six nanometer process technology has reduced CPU heating and also increased its energy efficiency. This fact, combined with the use of an economical display, allows you to achieve up to 8-9 hours of active screen time from a 4500mAh battery. It's nice to be aware of the presence of fast charging with a power of 80W. One cup of coffee in the morning and a mobile assistant will please you with 100% of the capacity you have collected. It is allowed to put applications, music, video and other information on 128/256GB of ROM.
The previous representative of the Reno line could not boast of excellent cameras, unfortunately, and the combination of 50- and 2-megapixel modules in his successor cannot be considered as such. There is no optical stabilization, only high-quality lenses and software optimization try to make the sensors suitable even for shooting dynamic objects or capturing evening shots, albeit with frequent noise or blurring. Not everything is simple and with video quality. The resulting 4K videos are rich, detailed, but not always smooth. The sub-flagship did not do without NFC contactless payments and stereo sound, however, the wireless charging and protection against dust and moisture desired by millions passed by the gadget to curb cost growth. The considered device causes only the desire to purchase it, and this is the main indicator of the manufacturer's success.
