Oppo Reno8 SE Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oppo Reno8 SE Overview
Oppo Reno8 SE - technology reuse
A significant number of people criticize the Chinese company Xiaomi for creating numerous clones of the same smartphone under different brands and names. But it is precisely this policy that brings the corporation the greatest profit, because it is much easier to make meager improvements to the device for various markets and users and receive additional sales due to this. Another manufacturer from the Middle Kingdom, Oppo, also decided to follow a similar path.
The appearance of the novelty strongly resembles that of the recent OnePlus Nord 2T. It is difficult not to recognize the familiar outlines of the glass case and its identical dimensions, even the camera block is guessed, although it is slightly modified. The colors have been updated, which makes at least some differences in the exterior design. The 6.43-inch AMOLED screen has a 90Hz refresh rate and FullHD + resolution, which is well reflected in the smoothness and clarity of the content, but the panel lags behind many opponents in brightness and contrast. The accuracy of the built-in fingerprint sensor is average, and the effectiveness of the oleophobic coating is not surprising either.
The technical specifications are provided by the Mediatek Dimensity 1300 CPU, 6GB / 8GB of RAM and the Mali G77 MC9 video core. The processor is an almost verbatim copy of the 1200th model, but it is hardly possible to scold him for this fact. The performance of the chipset today is sufficient for any games and applications, even Genshin Impact, known for its resource consumption, has not become an exception. At the same time, the gadget heats up reasonably, it will not burn the palm even after hour-long gaming sessions. The battery capacity was far from a record 4500mAh, however, they also allow you to get a stable one and a half days of operation of the phablet. Fast charging at 80W is an excellent way to get a fully charged mobile assistant in just 20 minutes. The size of the internal storage has reached 128 / 256GB UFS 3.1 format. Therefore, the lack of the possibility of expanding them cannot be taken as a drawback.
50-, 8- and 2-megapixel photomodules evoke positive emotions due to the quality of the Sony IMX766 main sensor with optical stabilization. It is easy to get detailed shots with such a module even in pitch darkness, but the wide-angle lens is no longer so impressive, and there is no telephoto lens in the reviewed Android smartphone. Stereo sound is present, its volume is enough not to miss an important call. NFC contactless payments are supported, as are 5G networks, but the wireless option for recharging the battery, moisture protection and the metal edging of the device remained for the more expensive representatives of the series. But even though the device is the most original, and it is not deprived of minuses, it still deserves attention with its democratic price tag.
