OUKITEL WP100 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oukitel WP100 Overview
Oukitel WP100 - another heavyweight
It seems that the fashion for large and incredibly autonomous units with increased strength and moisture protection according to IP68 standards has come to the smartphone market. Several well-known manufacturers have put such new products on public display, and the Chinese company Aukitel has not stood aside. The hero of today's review can hardly be called the best among devices of a similar class, but it has its competitive advantages.
The appearance of the device, of course, is ambiguous. The weight of almost 900 grams and the thickness of the rubberized case of more than three millimeters reduce ergonomics to zero. And it is impossible to carry a monoblock even in jeans pockets. Either it will not fit, or the pants will simply fall off. A side fingerprint scanner, a laser rangefinder on the upper edge, a huge LED panel on the back panel, which acts as a flashlight, a stylish block of three photo modules are trying to transform the exterior. But they still fail to change the situation. The 6.8-inch IPS screen cannot compete with more technologically advanced AMOLED analogs in peak brightness, so the user will have to avoid direct sunlight. But the clarity of the picture at a resolution of 2460x1080 pixels is not bad, there is a 120-Hz refresh rate, and natural color rendition, and even an oleophobic coating.
The technical characteristics are presented by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 CPU, 12 GB of RAM and the Mali-G615 MC2 video core. The bundle is very far from the flagship performance indicators, but still scores about 650 thousand points in AnTuTu, sufficient for the smooth operation of the Android 15 interface. The buyer was not left without games either, but in truly resource-intensive projects like Honkai: Star Rail, it is recommended to set low-medium graphics settings. You definitely don’t need to worry about autonomy with a 33,000 mAh battery. Not every power bank can boast such a capacity. It is realistic to count on a week of using the mobile assistant. There is also a fast wired charger with a power of 66W, but you still need to be near the outlet for long hours. The permanent memory is 512 GB, so you should not be upset by the lack of a slot for MicroSD cards.
Photo capabilities are not top-notch, but decent for the gadget category. Unfortunately, the auxiliary sensors are a peculiar 20-megapixel night vision module and a mediocre 2-megapixel macro camera. But the main 200-megapixel photo module SAMSUNG ISOCELL HP3, even without optical stabilization, is capable of creating detailed daytime and evening shots, although sometimes slightly spoiled by noise. The stereo sound is very loud and rich, almost the same as that of inexpensive Bluetooth speakers. Other advantages include support for 5G networks and NFC contactless payments, a gyroscope, and a reasonable price tag. As a result, we have a competitive device that will find its audience. But one look at it is enough to understand that such a phablet is not suitable for everyone.
