OUKITEL WP53 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oukitel WP53 Overview
Oukitel WP53 - a smartphone that couldn't be better
Creating a successful low-end phone with IP68 water protection is not an easy task, but it is feasible for many experienced manufacturers. There is no doubt in the skill of the Chinese company Oukitel, which has repeatedly pleased us with balanced and technological bestsellers regardless of the price tag. However, something definitely went wrong with the hero of today's review. And if the original Pro version was quite controversial, then the new product is completely sad in many aspects.
The appearance of the device is ordinary for its category. Large screen frames, huge dimensions of the case clearly reduce the attractiveness of the exterior. The developer is trying to disguise the shortcomings with a side fingerprint scanner, a combination of cameras and a huge speaker with a maximum volume of 120 dB in one design element. Of course, the sound in this case will not be the best quality, but you will definitely not miss a notification. The 6.52-inch IPS display is simply bad. The modest resolution of 1280x576 pixels will not allow you to enjoy HD video, and individual pixels are very noticeable. The peak brightness of 400 nits is not enough to work with the gadget in direct sunlight, the refresh rate of 60 Hz is no longer relevant, and the color rendering is mediocre.
There are fewer questions about the technical characteristics. The UNISOC Tiger T615 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G57 MC1 video adapter are a bundle that is not inferior in performance to the solutions of its competitors. 250 thousand points in the AnTuTu test is not much, but enough for more or less smooth operation of the Android 15 operating system. But the launch of applications sometimes occurs with a pause, and the gaming capabilities are limited. You can forget about the performance of truly resource-intensive projects and be content with relatively old and undemanding 3D games like PUBG Mobile with reduced graphics settings. ROM 128 GB, so some users will need MicroSD memory cards. Autonomy is the main advantage of the model, because the 11000 mAh battery easily lasts about 3-4 days of operation of the unit. But with a charger of 18 W, you will have to prepare for several hours of staying near the outlet.
It is recommended to simply forget about the photo capabilities of the device. The main 13 and 0.08 megapixel sensors sometimes capture even documents with blurs, let alone artistic photography. The 5-megapixel selfie camera turned out to be unremarkable. But there is contactless payment NFC, which is important for the entire modern audience. But even with a reasonable price, the phablet will have a hard time gaining popularity due to its weak processor, IPS screen and cameras.
