Oukitel WP60 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oukitel WP60 Overview
Oukitel WP60 – Overly ambitious
The Chinese company Oukitel's commitment to expanding its smartphone range and addressing not only all price categories but also the wide range of potential customer needs cannot be criticized. However, some of the developer's phones raise numerous questions. For example, it's not entirely clear who the target audience for today's review is, despite possessing both a number of clear advantages and critical shortcomings.
The new device's appearance evokes positive emotions. It boasts a beautiful photo module array, unique case colors, and a futuristic textured back panel. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the neat 32-megapixel selfie camera at the top of the screen are also pleasing. However, the IP68 water resistance, rubberized elements, and overall dimensions of the phablet are less impressive. What's truly disappointing is the 7.2-inch IPS display, which has an extremely low HD+ resolution for its diagonal. Pixels are visible to the naked eye, and small fonts are blurry. Add to this the meager 500 nit brightness and dull color reproduction, and the resulting image becomes downright dismal. And the 120Hz refresh rate doesn't help matters.
Technical specifications are noticeably better. The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor with 8GB/12GB/16GB RAM and IMG BXM-8-256 GPU aren't the most advanced for the price segment, but the combination is sufficient for smooth playback of the Android 15 interface and the vast majority of modern games. Of course, truly resource-intensive games will require graphics settings to be reduced to the bare minimum, but at least gameplay will be relatively stable. Battery life won't be an issue either, thanks to the massive 10,000mAh battery. You can expect 12-15 hours of active screen time or more. However, the charging power is limited to 33W, so don't expect the coveted 100% battery life shown in the battery icon within a few minutes of being plugged in. Storage options include 256GB or 512GB, and the ROM is expandable via MicroSD cards.
Cameras in this type of device rarely receive top marks, and this unit is no exception. The main 108-megapixel Samsung sensor, without optical image stabilization, produces high-quality photos and videos only in daylight; poor lighting results in a lot of noise, blur, and a loss of detail. The 8-megapixel night vision sensor and 2-megapixel portrait sensor are mediocre and are unlikely to be used often. There's no stereo sound, and the single speaker is quite loud, but the frequency response is unbalanced, making listening to your favorite music a disappointment. As for the device's other advantages, contactless NFC payments and 5G modem support are among its many additions. However, I can't forgive such a questionable IPS display for such a pricey device, nor recommend it for purchase.
