OUKITEL WP61 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oukitel WP61 5G Overview
Oukitel WP61 5G – Mega-Battery Life with Big Compromises
The Chinese company Oukitel has decided to please those seeking an extremely long-lasting and durable mobile assistant. The subject of today's review is controversial for a number of reasons, but it will definitely find its fans.
You'll either love it or hate it. The huge rubberized case with its enormous display bezels and the all-in-one weight of over 600 grams won't suit every buyer. However, the photo module module, camping LED flashlight, and metal elements are impressively attractive. The 6.78-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2460x1080 pixels delivers detailed images, which are also smooth at a 120Hz refresh rate. However, peak brightness is a bit limited: 550 nits is insufficient for maintaining visibility in direct sunlight. The color rendition is a bit dull, but AMOLED panels are much more modern and appealing.
The specifications include a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 CPU with 5G support, 12GB of RAM, and an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. While this combination doesn't offer exceptional performance, it's sufficient for smoothly running the Android 15 interface. An AnTuTu score of around 450,000-500,000 points suggests that resource-intensive games like Genshin Impact are playable, but likely at minimum graphics settings. The chipset is energy efficient, allowing the 20,000mAh battery to last up to a week of active use. However, the 45W charging rate isn't sufficient for such a battery. The device will last for hours when plugged in. 512GB of storage is allocated, and there's also a microSD card slot.
The triple rear camera setup is underwhelming. The main 108-megapixel Samsung module lacks optical image stabilization, making it suitable only for daytime photography. The 8-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor might be useful for hunting or fishing, but definitely not for everyday use. Similar comments apply to the 2-megapixel macro camera. They also skimped on stereo sound, but at least one active speaker delivers volume and distinct bass. NFC contactless payments, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and, of course, IP69 water resistance enhance the device's appeal. Therefore, for fans of such rugged devices, this phone is an excellent choice.
