OUKITEL WP62 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Oukitel WP62 Overview
Oukitel WP62 - a Potentially Successful Smartphone
The Chinese company Oukitel is known for making well-balanced phones regardless of price, which is why it has earned its audience's love. Today's review subject strives to combine not only a reasonable price tag but also full IP68 water resistance and excellent functionality. And overall, it succeeds in this task.
The appearance of the new device resembles the previously released WP35, with a few improvements. It's hard not to notice the huge screen bezels, the outdated 32-megapixel selfie camera, and the impressive dimensions of the rubberized case. However, the developer skillfully disguises these shortcomings with a beautiful photo module array and original, futuristic back panels. The 6.58-inch IPS panel definitely doesn't deserve the title of the best, as it lacks brightness compared to its AMOLED counterparts. However, the image retains its sharpness at Full HD+ resolution, boasts smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and color rendition is close to natural.
The technical specifications represent a slight improvement over many competitors in this price range. For example, the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor now features 5G and outperforms the previously used Helio G99/G100 by 10-15% in terms of performance. 8GB/16GB of RAM and an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU help the chipset score around 450,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark and demonstrate relatively stable performance in the vast majority of games. However, graphics presets may sometimes need to be set to minimum levels. The 11,000 mAh battery guarantees excellent battery life, lasting up to 3-4 days of active use. However, 33W isn't enough power to charge such a large battery; you'll need to leave the device plugged in overnight. Storage is limited to 256GB/512GB, but you can easily use a MicroSD card.
The main cameras aren't particularly impressive, especially the auxiliary modules. The 8-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor and 2-megapixel macro camera are unlikely to be used often due to their low quality, but the main 108-megapixel Samsung camera, while lacking optical image stabilization, is capable of capturing plenty of highly detailed shots during daylight photo sessions. There's no stereo sound, but support for NFC contactless payments is another plus. Thus, it's hard not to appreciate the device's balance and its relevance to a significant number of future buyers.
