Realme 16 Pro+ Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme 16 Pro+ Overview
Realme 16 Pro+ - A Return to Roots
The 15th generation of the main smartphone series from the Chinese company Realme evoked mixed emotions among fans. While the models received a number of improvements in some areas, photography capabilities were a significant step up. But for the new year 2026, the manufacturer is bringing back both the Plus model and optical zoom. But are these the only advantages of today's review subject? Let's find out.
The appearance of the new model is worthy of compliments. The updated textures of the rear panels look both expensive and original, the photo module assembly is beautiful, like a flagship, and it features thin display bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner and full IP68 water resistance. The body is ergonomic and fits perfectly in the hand. The 6.8-inch AMOLED screen hasn't improved in picture quality, but this isn't a drawback. The 2800x1280 resolution is more than sufficient for crisp images, the 120 Hz refresh rate is smooth, and colors are realistically rendered without numerous errors. The 2500 nit brightness is optimal for the vast majority of device usage scenarios.
The technical specifications remain the same, which is a bit disappointing. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, and Adreno 722 GPU are sufficient for smooth rendering of the RealmeUI interface, even with a million points in AnTuTu, you won't need to worry about maxing out graphics settings in the most modern games. Zenless Zone Zero, for example, will require medium-high graphics presets. The 7000 mAh battery not only meets but exceeds current user requirements. You'll need to remember the location of nearby outlets and power banks every two or three days. Wireless charging is absent, reserved for flagships, but the wired version now offers 80W of power. Storage can be up to 512GB, but there's no microSD card slot.
The main 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor is an extremely advanced solution for a mid-range device. It consistently takes high-quality photos, even in the evening, without sacrificing detail or natural color rendition. The 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom also leaves a positive impression. However, the wide-angle 8-megapixel sensor was clearly skimped on; it's unlikely to be used often. Stereo sound is present, although not exceptional in volume or volume. NFC contactless payment and 5G support will further entice purchasers. Perhaps the only real obstacle to purchasing the unit will be the increased price tag.
