Realme 9i 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme 9i 5G Overview
Realme 9i 5G - a minimum of originality
The Chinese company Realme is gradually turning from a new market player into its leader. However, this fact does not always reflect well on the corporation's products. So, in its assortment there are more and more open-ended products that differ little from the decisions of opponents. After all, why do something revolutionary when marketing will help sell a less interesting smartphone.
The hero of today's review is not bad in terms of design. The relevance and beauty of the exterior is achieved through a triple photomodule, a side fingerprint scanner, borrowed from the flagships of the rear panel colors. Of course, in order to reduce the cost, the manufacturer had to make a number of compromises. The most noticeable of them are the use of plastic in the structure of the case instead of metal and tempered glass, as well as the wide lower display bezel. The 6.5-inch IPS screen delivers a sharp (2400x1080 pixels) and smooth picture (120Hz refresh rate), which is slightly lacking in brightness and contrast. This problem is especially visible in the direct rays of the summer sun, when it is not easy to see the content being played.
Specifications are standard for the value category. The MediaTek Dimensity 810 CPU, 6GB RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video accelerator are designed to make the Android 12 interface (RealmeUI shell) responsive, and everyday applications like the browser open quickly. Of course, the processor also has gaming capabilities, albeit somewhat limited. So, less demanding PUBG and Call Of Duty function successfully with medium-high graphic presets, and resource-intensive Genshin Impact will require minimal presets. The power consumption of the bundle is insignificant, so the 5000mAh battery will ask you to look for an outlet in a couple of days. The fast charging power has been increased to 33W, which is a decent result for a relatively inexpensive phablet. 128GB of ROM are expanded with MicroSD cards, a lack of memory is unlikely to be observed.
The main 50-, 8- and 2-megapixel cameras are topped by a budget sensor from Samsung without optical stabilization, so the probability of getting a detailed shot in the evening or at night tends to zero. But daytime landscapes and portraits will come out rich, colorful and pleasing to the eye. But the video sequence lacks smoothness and the amount of detail. Stereo sound is present, but it is not very loud, and the bass is extremely small. Of the other pluses, we note support for 5G network but every competitor of the device also has them. As a result, we have an ordinary representative of the middle price segment without any significant competitive advantages.
