Realme GT2 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme GT2 Overview
Realme GT2 - elimination of defects
The first smartphone of the GT-line from the Chinese company Realmi turned out to be successful. The crazy combination of top-end performance and relatively low price has made the phone very popular among gamers, but ordinary users were not always happy with the photographic capabilities and body materials. The manufacturer decided to correct these shortcomings and bring the hero of today's review closer to the ideal.
The appearance of the novelty has been slightly updated. The camera unit consists of three modules, but the rear panel has changed the previous design, now it is made of either eco-friendly biomaterial (white and green colors) or tempered glass (black and blue options). The display bezels are still narrow, the 6.62-inch screen can be praised both for the excellent oleophobic coating and the fairly accurate operation of the built-in fingerprint scanner, as well as for the picture provided. Flagship brightness and contrast settings are harmoniously combined with FullHD + resolution and 120 hertz refresh rate. Thus, such a smooth, rich and clear image can only be admired. The 16-megapixel selfie module is located in the upper left corner of the AMOLED panel, it is almost impossible to see it.
But with the technical characteristics, the changes did not happen. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB / 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 660 video accelerator demonstrate amazing results in benchmarks and the most demanding games, and store a reserve of gaming power for years to come. However, with heating and energy efficiency and a brand new chipset, things are not so rosy. There is throttling, heating is also noticeable during prolonged gameplay or prolonged shooting of 4K video. The battery capacity has reached 5000mAh , but the autonomy is about the same, namely 8-9 hours of active screen time. The battery is charged to 100% in about 30-40 minutes. The volume of internal storage was 128 / 256GB of UFS 3.1 ROM , which finally brings the playback speed of the interface and applications to sky-high heights.
As noted above, the cameras have undergone modernization. 50-, 8- and 2-megapixel photo modules led by Sony IMX 766 have optical stabilization, the quality of evening photography has increased. Although the noise is sometimes visible to the naked eye, the detail has improved, smears are less common. And video in low light almost does not upset with the unpleasant ghosting effect. Other pluses of the gadget are loud stereo sound , beloved by millions, and NFC contactless payments. As a result, the considered device is really relevant and at the same time an affordable replacement for expensive flagships.
