Realme GT8 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme GT8 Overview
Realme GT8 – not a flagship, but a bestseller?
The Chinese company Realme is excelling as a competitor to Xiaomi, the de facto leader in the low- and mid-range smartphone market. And it looks like the manufacturer's position will only strengthen with each passing year. After all, it's simply impossible to contain your emotions when looking at the design and specifications of phones like the one reviewed today.
The new device's appearance is stylish and original. The beautiful round photo module cluster harmoniously complements the variety of case colors to suit every taste. The glass back panel, metal frame, and minimal bezels all around the screen also add to the appeal of the exterior. It's hard to believe that such an attractive and ergonomic device also boasts IP68 water resistance. They also didn't skimp on the quality of the AMOLED panel. The 6.79-inch display boasts a flagship resolution of 3136x1440 pixels. Stunning clarity and fluid content are combined with a 144Hz refresh rate, natural color rendition, and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. Of course, a high-quality under-screen fingerprint sensor and oleophobic coating are also included.
The technical specifications include a modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite gaming CPU, 12GB/16GB RAM, and an Adreno 840 GPU, ready to handle all resource-intensive games without the slightest problem. Diablo Immortal, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail all run smoothly at maximum graphics settings with a remarkably stable frame rate. Of course, the Android 16 interface runs smoothly, without any lag or even the slightest noticeable stutter. Battery life is fully addressed thanks to both the processor's energy efficiency and the 7000 mAh battery. Wireless charging is lacking, but the wired version offers an impressive 100W of power. Storage options are 256, 512, or 1024 GB.
The main cameras' photographic capabilities also raise no concerns. This is, of course, excluding the rather basic 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. The main 50-megapixel sensor, developed in collaboration with Japanese company Ricoh, and the telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom are equipped with hybrid image stabilization and perform remarkably well even with a lot of moving objects or in low light. Stereo sound is also commendable, with high volume and a relatively smooth frequency response. Of course, there's also support for 5G networks, NFC, and an IR port. Until the global version is released, you'll have to make do with the lack of FDD-LTE B7. However, even in this version, the device is of interest to any mobile electronics enthusiast.
