Realme Narzo 50 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme Narzo 50 5G Overview
Realme Narzo 50 5G - same as the rest
Modern budget smartphones have come a long way to the functionality that they have today, but it's hard not to find some stagnation in the segment. The bar for performance, autonomy and other aspects of low-cost phones set by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, which was released a couple of years ago, remains relevant. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review does not surpass her either.
The appearance of the novelty turned out to be quite attractive, although not without controversial points. So, the manufacturer could well rid the gadget of the outdated design of the 8-megapixel selfie camera, as well as noticeable screen frames. But these shortcomings do not attract so much attention due to the beautiful carbon texture of the case, an interesting camera block. The monoblock itself is mostly covered with plastic, but the material used does not collect fingerprints and scratches very quickly. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side face, as the gadget uses an IPS display. Its strengths are picture clarity at a resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels, its smoothness at a 90Hz refresh rate, and the absence of the PWM effect that is harmful to the eyes, typical of AMOLED panels. But at the same time, the brightness of the image will not be enough on clear summer days.
As for the technical characteristics, we have the usual combination of the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and the Mali G57 MC2 video core, which is found in many Android smartphones in the price category. It almost completely eliminates the Android 12 interface from lags and slowdowns, and is also characterized by decent gaming capabilities. So, projects like Call Of Duty and PUBG operate with the highest framerate and without any problems, and the technologically advanced Genshin Impact is playable on minimal graphics presets. The mentioned chipset does not suffer from increased power consumption, so the 5000mAh battery often delivers more than a dozen hours of screen time. Complement all previously described 64 / 128GB of ROM with a slot for MicroSD cards.
The main 48- and 2-megapixel cameras, led by the Samsung GM1 sensor, are not considered useless, but their scope is not as wide as we would like. Daytime shots of static objects are excellent for the modules, the detail is good, and the color reproduction is quite natural. But the dynamics of events, the deterioration of lighting make the results of photo shoots mediocre in these parameters. Surprisingly, it was decided not to save on the sound component, so there is both stereo sound and a wired headphone jack. NFC contactless payments, 5G support and a reasonable price are also on the list of advantages of the device, but it lacks original design or other competitive advantages for real success. There are too many analogues on the market.
